Video: German Nissan GT-R guerilla marketing campaign borders on vandalism — Autoblog

The GT-R is an aggressive car, and Nissan has taken aim at Porsche owners in an aggressive marketing campaign. A team of ladies in Germany driving a brand new GT-R have taken to the streets, targeting parked Porsches. Armed with a removable decal that shows the tail-end of a Nissan GT-R, the ladies affix the "ad" to the front windshield of the Porsche. The Porsche owner returns to his or her car, sits down and sees the GT-R's taillights staring right back.

It sounds funny, but we prefer that people keep their hands off O.P.P (yeah you know me! ... anyone?). Click past the jump to view the clip and let us hear your thoughts in the comments; is this clever marketing or toeing the vandalism line?

Ya, this is a little much. I would freak if people F'd with my car. Or tried to humiliate me and my ride.
But hey, cute girls can get away with anything...

I love me some Deutsch women! However id be ticked to see this stuff on the car as well, I freak when ppl park next to me!

Aggressive marketing these days is pretty ... aggressive. Not half a decade ago you'd never seen a commercial that directly mentioned anyone else. Nowadays you turn on some Ford commercials and they specifically name things like "oh the Ford model outperforms the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord, etc."

Back half a decade ago you might be slapped with a slander civil suit... not anymore.

That's pretty remarkable; for an increase of 25%, that's significant. No idea what their data says, though. At least Nissan is considerate and didn't make it a sticker, just static-y piece of plastic.

That's a good point. We have no idea how many people test drive the GT-R. I'd be surprised if anyone in the states could test drive it without putting down an insurance deductible, lol

Reminds me of how IL media said that Pat Quinn (governor) wants to raise income tax 66 percent.
It's 3 percent now. A 66 percent increase of that is 5 percent. To the individual, it makes little difference. For the government, that's a couple hundred million more dollars.

The idea is quite comical actually, but yeah, I wouldn't want people to mess with my car in anyway. Please stay at least 3 ft away from my car. Thank you!
