True, but if you live under the illusion that blurring your plate will keep your car safe, you are really just fooling yourself. Bad stuff happens to nice people and nice cars. That's why I have insurance! (and alcohol.... )

It's a step of abstraction. People can walk up to my house and vandalize my car while I'm at work. That can happen.

Someone can get mad at me on here and seek my car to vandalize it.

Leaving my house number and license plates in my pix makes that easier.

It's not about absolute prevention, it's about minor obfuscation.

It's not a complete illusion. It's about keeping a smaller target on me.

And if you think it's just plain paranoia, well good for you, you go live your life and let me stay warm under my false security blanket. Go live the good life, and rage at blurred license plates on internet forums. whoopty do.
