Good hit. Can you imagine, just sitting in your car, probably looking at the lambo next to you, and getting hit at ... what, 45 mph?

^That happened to me last year. I was at the back end of stop & go traffic just admiring the tail of the S63 AMG in front of me and next thing I know, I got rear ended hard enough that the front of my car gets smashed up by that S63. Turns out it was a woman in a brand new 4Runner that hit me with enough force to cause a 3 car bumper to bumper in front of me.
Other than that, the good thing that came out of it is my next car will be the 370

I've seen that scenario twice in person, it must be pretty common. One time it was the car next to me at the light, the other time the other car was two lanes over. Both times were in the 2-3AM window on a weekend night (drunks driving home timeframe around here, bars stop serving at 2), and both were on the north stretch of FM1960 in Houston, which is often full of idiots. Scary stuff.

I once saw that happen near some rentals I owned, the guy was drunk and hit one car which ended up slamming in to four other cars. I hope the guy in the cube lived.

Well, I think it was the traffic light's fault.

Geeze, your car got messed up more by the car in front of you.
That's a crappy scenario, because I would be worried the lady wouldn't have enough insurance to pay for the mercedes AND my (your) totaled car.

Actually, someone rear ended her right after she hit me, so their insurance split 50/50 on the bill for the four cars in front of them. Other than that, my car was totalled and the benz's airbag deployed along with a damaged front and rear bumper + exhaust, good luck with them on the bill.
