Thanks to everyone for your nice thoughts.
She did have a pretty good life. I rescued her from a kid that had no idea how to take care of a goldfish, much less a dog, when she was about six months old. When she was 5-6 yo, I had an Australian Cattle Dog puppy given to me and she got to be the Alpha Bitch of our little pack. She would stretch out in the sun, in a Sphinx-like pose, surveying her kingdom, ready to repel all cats, squirrels, and any other critters that might try to invade the back yard. Sure gonna miss her.
