Love that look he's giving. I stopped buying my hounds stuffed pillows for they think its a giant stuffed animal and do the same thing. I walked in my house one day and I swear it looked like it snowed 3 inches in my living room from all the stuffing

Lol. Yeah i learned too :)
Although the older he gets the mote mature he becomes.

Heres some photos of my dogs. One is a "Red Nose" APBT and the others a Shorkie (shih Tzu/Yorkie mix). "Sarge" is the pitbull and "Shifu" is the shorkie. unfortunately I recently moved into an apartment complex that doesnt allow Pitbulls as its one of the banned breeds (florida isnt too pitbull friendly) so I had to leave Sarge with my mother at her house which works out well for him because he has other dogs he grew up with to play with. The shorkie does live with me as its the fiances dog. I sure do miss my big boy though and im sure other pitbull owners can relate :(

DriftKr6l 06-05-2013 02:19 PM

Nice Pit! I wouldnt have moved to a place with a ban!

thanks & yea unfortunately its alot of the apartments around here in florida. its not just pitbulls alone its pretty much what one leasing agent I spoke to referred to as "thug" dogs. rottweilers, doberman pinschers, pitbulls etc. My mother has a pitbull of her own and the home owners insurance didnt want to cover because of that. It was one of the hardest things to do to leave him, but its with family so i felt better knowing where he was. I also visit him as often as possible. but im there with you on educating and a big advocate for the "Dont Bully My Breed" movement.

Sorry to hear about the problems but it sounds like you reached a good solution (for the dog, at least).

There are a LOT of anti-BSL and pro-Pit groups on Facebook. Many of them are just sniping at the pro-BSL/anti-Pit ppl but some of them have great information on what your rights are and what you can do to prevent/overturn BSL in your area.

Man, I felt helpless when I saw the pictures coming out of Colorado. They drug peoples pets out of there homes and euthanized them on the spot. They killed dogs that were not APBT's, if they even had the look of one they destroyed them.

No Politics... Sorry :stirthepot:

Yea thats just ridiculous, my dogs are like my kids to me so they wouldve had to euthanize me before they got to my dog..I once had a sheriff called on me because my pit ran on to "MY" front lawn and a neighbor called them out of fear. the sheriff arrived and my dog was already inside and when he spoke to me he tells me; "If I'd seen him running around outside Id more then likely have had to shoot him." The ignorance and social stigma that people place on pitbulls or any dog just gets under my skin.

I have a Shiba Mix!

SouthArk370Z 04-07-2014 03:31 PM

New dog in the house!
Some kind of Beagle-ish dog. Probably 2-3 years old. About 20-25 pounds. Named "Stella" (I try to do my best Marlon Brando* impersonation when I call her heehee). Friend of mine found her running around inside the city limits and pregnant. Vet said pups weren't viable (and were too big for her even if they were), so she was aborted and spayed. Up-to-date on shots. House trained. Gets along well with my AU Cattle Dog.

Friend needed room to take in/rehab/adopt out more dogs. No telling how much she spent at the vet's but she just gave the dog to me.

The gang....

The chihuahua mix I found at a gas station. I clearly remember that day, I had just gotten my tint done and was sitting at a light. Saw a small white speck coming in from a distance, little guy was sitting in on coming traffic so I rolled down my window (ruining my tint) to yell at the dog to move. Light turned green and I circled back to gas station, ask a food truck at station if they knew anything about dog, all they said was that he has no owner and is always dodging traffic. Went home pick up my jeep, loaded food and empty crate and the rest is history. He's one of the nicest dogs I've ever had. The Pomeranian was owner surrendered, so I gladly took him in.

We just lost our 11 year old dachshund, Bailey 3 weeks ago to parathyroid disorder.

She can never be replaced, but we just brought this cutie, Barlie into our home this week. SHe is also a dachshund, but only 7 weeks old.

Our little pitbull rescue/stray. We've had her for 6 weeks now. Apparently she was overbred which stunted her growth. She was 30lbs but is now 42. The vet thinks she's is about 2 years old. We lost our fantastic mutt of 15 years in December and I really wasn't ready for another dog. She has been an absolute joy though. House trained, smart, obedient and she loves attention and cuddles. The one downfall is she hates cages and has terrible separation anxiety, probably due to the way she was treated. I've already received my fair share of stupid comments from people that just don't understand the breed. The neighbors all had little comments when we got her and she completely turned their opinion around in just a few weeks. It's funny to see their out of control labs and retrievers drag their owners for walks when my dog won't leave my side on a walk or run, comes when called, rides in my convertible and goes to work with me 3 days a week. She's even learned how to run on the treadmill for 30 minutes 4-5 times a week.

Her on the treadmill https://flic.kr/p/mThy4V
