Ours is 12 going on 13. He's slowing down. 2 bout's of skin cancer, and arthritis in both front paws and rear hip. But he still keeps going.

Our cat is slowing down some in his "golden" years, but as I was outside grilling yesterday, I did see him prancing uncharacteristically across the back yard. Upon closer inspection, I observed a mouse in his mouth.

I was pretty proud until I surmised that he had probably gotten the mouse from a neighbor's yard and trucked him back to our yard to display and enjoy :owned:

Not bad! Seems like he has a loving family that takes good care of him. If he is still hunting in his "golden years" he must be a very happy cat.

Thanks! He hasn't complained :D

One of my neighbors is a real grouch and was always complaining about voles in his yard, so I let him know when Oliver was very young that he was a proficient hunter. I think that is one reason that my neighbors don't seem bothered by his roaming into their yards. We were concerned about that for quite a while, but it seems to have worked out well.

Love Goldens. They have so much character. :D Would love to have another one. But the wife wants a small lap mutt. :shakes head: I'm not hip to small dogs.

:iagree: My son and I agree with you on small dogs. That pic was taken this past Christmas and the green bear was his Christmas gift. Granted it only lasted one day before all of the stuffing was out and he was chewing on the knots that were inside. LOL
He's a good size Golden weighing in at 80 lbs, my son named him Thor .

Both of my guys are over 100lbs each. Cooper, my oldest is 13. His health is going down. 2 bouts of skin cancer, 2 big fatty tumors, arthritis in both front paws and hips. He hasn't slowed down too much. He still wants to go. Been a couple of times I thought I would have to put him down. But he surprises me all the time. Jake is 8. He's my inspector. What ever I do. He's watching. :icon17:

They are so much fun and strong as hell. They dragged me across the front lawn on my stomach once. They got excited about going for a ride in the truck. I let go after 40 feet and they jumped in the back.

Funy as hell. And of course the neighbor happened to see it all. :-)

I had one that looked similar to yours when I was a kid. He sat on my dad's shoulder for two hours while dad shoveled snow. He was full-sized at the time.

Help me out here. Looks like a Great Dane/Mastiff mix from the two pics, but it is hard for me to tell.

Nice looking dog! Approximate weight?

OldGrayDog 02-18-2017 01:34 PM

She is pure English Mastif, small for her breed 175 lbs. My niece has a male 230 lbs.

Good deal! I haven't been around any mastiffs but I thought they had shorter noses. Nice looking pooch!
