Any other info about the M&P?

I was looking at the Springfield XDM 40SW but have read better reviews about the SW M&P 40SW. I am interested in getting the new range kit for the 40SW.

Just want some opinions

they run for about $550 online.

House Bill Introduced To Ban High-Capacity Magazines The Shooter's Log

A bill written by Democrat Representative Carolyn McCarthy was formally introduced on the House floor last week with the intention of banning ammunition magazines carrying more than 10 rounds. The introduction of the bill follows a mass killing in Tucson that left 19 individuals shot and 6 dead.

“I know what it’s like to have tragedy brought to your life in a split second by a madman with high-capacity ammunition magazines. I’m working to stop it from happening again,” claimed McCarthy. “We need comprehensive reform to reduce the number of people hurt or killed by gunfire in America, but one simple way we can do that is by keeping the worst tools of mass murder away from the general public. This nation has come together before to support this simple, commonsense measure, and it is the law in several states right now. It is a small sacrifice that law-abiding gun owners can make once again in order to increase everyone’s safety.”

Online firearm and ammunition retailer Cheaper Than Dirt! reported seeing a surge in orders for magazines holding more than 10 rounds in the past few days, with 30 round Glock magazines leading sales. Online sales of Glock pistol had also spiked and, at the time of publication of this article, the company was completely sold out of all 9mm Glock handgun models.

“It’s not unusual to see panic buying when legislation like this is introduced,” said Cheaper Than Dirt Chief Operating Officer Roberta Wilson. “Hopefully cooler heads will prevail and we’ll see this bill die in committee. Cheaper Than Dirt has always advocated responsible gun ownership and laws such as the one proposed by Congresswoman McCarthy only deprive law abiding gun owners. Criminals, by definition, ignore such laws and will remain unaffected.”

Democratic Senator Frank Lautenberg disagreed, saying ““High-capacity gun magazines are tools for murder. This common-sense legislation would make it more difficult for someone to carry out a killing spree. Before 2004, these ammunition magazines were banned, and they must be banned again. I am proud to partner on this effort with Rep. McCarthy, who has worked tirelessly throughout her career to curb gun violence in our nation.”

It is extremely unfortunate that politicians decide that smaller magazines reduce mass murders when simply swapping out for a fresh magazine allows for another ten rounds. Just like Bush did with NCLB, and Obama with Healthcare, we're seeing another rush into legislation by riding the panic wave.

In MD, we "enjoy" some restrictive gun laws.

And yet Baltimore City and PG county consistently rank among the nation's highest gun violence rates.

hmmm gun control works? You be the judge.

A little ignorant, but gun carry laws have no true merit because they rarely accomplish anything.

I recently purchased MasterPiece Arms 9mm, 35 round magazine :) Got it brand new from a local gun show for about $370. They retail about 450-500. https://www.masterpiecearms.com/index2.php?cat=23

Carbon_z 02-27-2011 01:45 PM

yea i love it.... I live in Georgia and the Gun Shows they have here aren't guns that are being shot and demonstrated but guns up for sale. Also they have knifes, pistols, glocks, shotguns and whatever else you can think of... even fully auto but you have to have special license or something like that. I personally thought you couldn't sell a fully whats so ever in the country but I was wrong.

But I got the gun for the looks lol... and the fact I needed one for home protection.
