They are real people driving their own cars. All the sponsors that are on the side are speedchannel's sponsors. They are competing for money. I remember one of the guys commenting on how the damage to his car (lambo) was almost as much as the prize money.

Bitch being the key word. The other annoying thing is that they never did a challenge until the one they failed. None of the guy teams could figure out how the Lexus girls last so long. Duh, idiots! Challenge them!

I think the guys did the smart thing by keeping them around. They seemed to know they weren't going to win in the challenges, so maybe it was a smarter idea to knock off the better competitors early on and save the people they knew they could beat until later.

IIRC, those early competitors didn't lose those challenges.

That is the stragety for those type of Reality Show competition...
