I lived and worked in Scottsdale/Phoenix about 4 years ago. The Canadian company I worked for at the time owned a construction company down there. I gotta say that almost the only ppl in Scottsdale I ever saw doing manual labor (landscapring etc) were Mexican. Every morning on the 101 loop, I saw truckloads of mexican workers in backs of trucks heading off to work. The Mexicans I got to meet and work with (mostly at our shop) were all hardworking and honest people. In Canada, the hispanic population is a very small minority but we don't border Mexico either. Isn't the amount of social security benefits and payroll taxes (unrefunded since tax returns are not filed in a lot of cases) a pretty big number? I heard a stat once re those with fake SSNs. |

I do, but I'm no expert, and no one should listen to me. There are real pros and cons. Illegal immigration does have many positive points. However, IMHO the bad things outweigh the good.

^ maybe a real dumb question, but where was a wall being constructed that I heard about in the news a few years back. Would that be the California border?
I drove to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Pt.) Mexico a few times and never saw anything. Ever go there for fun? |

There are a few "walls," but one that got some news last was the Texas one. Texas wanted to expand its wall, to something much more expansive than just the chain-link fences.

^ I heard from somebody that the Dems have outfitted a plane to rival airforce one just for her to fly back and forth from Washington to California direct. Any truth to that rumor?

Walls have never worked. Our country was founded on immigration and much of it was illegal. People who believe everyone legally immigrated through "Ellis island" are living under a rock. We are deeply affected by illegal immigration here in Oregon. i am not saying I am an expert on it but I have definitely experienced it first hand. Our process for legal immigration is absolutely unfair and ridiculously full of bureaucracy.
