For $50 the DFGT is a STEAL!!! Prob the best $50 you will ever spend.

true, but it's hard to tell on ebay how hard the previous owner used the wheel/pedals. Plus it seems like it's pointless to by the g27 and attach it too a desk. I think one day I'll just get the full setup (g27, seat / stand)

Just build your own chassis. I spend around $100 building mine.

I would still need to find a seat and my only complaint would be portability, but I may consider it as a "summer project"

so how you guys like the first 2 rounds. I have done all 5 events in round 1, and 1 event in round 2.

Alchemy 05-02-2012 11:05 AM

Yeah I noticed that too, the good news is i got gold so far on all of them on my first try except for one which took 2 tries. Time isn't really important until last round though right? You just have to keep getting at least bronze.

From playstation blog:

The last stage of this eight-week competition will serve as the finale—Round 8, Event 5—where it all boils down to one FINAL online time trial challenge. Only the fastest lap times will go up on the national leader boards, so in order to move up in the rankings, you must continually improve your performance. Take all the key driving techniques that you have acquired from each of the trials, and unleash them in Round 8, Event 5. Your performance here will determine if you have what it takes to move on to the GT Academy 2012 National Finals.

So it seems like we will be doing events like round 1 and 2 up until round 8, event 5. Event 5 will be the time trial that actually matters for ranking.

The rounds are suppose to get harder though so people should start filtering out.
