That new Fanatec wheel looks sick. I am going to order it along with the clubsport shifter and handbrake as soon as they are released. Hopefully it doesn't take 3 months to ship like the GT2 wheel.

Wow good time w the sls. Its a tough event. The leader is 1:14 last I saw. Ugh. I like the seasonals but ONLINE is where its at. I could race online w my wheel forever.

Eric 09-29-2011 06:15 AM

Online is where it is at! That's the only way that I play the game now,

Here are a few photos of my new project.

Not quite done yet but hopefully it will be usable very soon.

Which system are you on Red? Id suspect PS3 since you are in the gt5 thread. The GT force by Logitch is what I have. For the $130 it costs its amazing. I have been using mine for years and many times a week. It stands up to all the abuse I throw at it and I beat on it pretty hard. Very suprised at the quality. Though the Logitech G27 is where its at. The pedal feel is amazing and its fun as hell to drive a 6sp manual gearbox. The wheel itself is top notch w very realistic paddle shifters. My seat, the Gameracer Pro is one of the cheaper seats out there, around $400 it was I think, but has full adjustability and is just as good as the pricier seats. If you play racing games a wheel and seat make the experience 100x better.

All-in-all, I've spend around $100 for the materials minus the wheel. The G27 cost me $200 and the seats are from my '97 Eclipse. I had bought a leather interior for my Spyder 5 years ago and I kept the old seats. I'm so glad I did!

The materials consist of 2x4's, 1 sheet of 1/2" plywood, and 2 2x4' sheets of MDF and various bolts and screws. It should be quite sturdy.

I should be ready for GT5 Spec II!!!
