GT Academy 2013 has just been confirmed (announced)

-New Game engine for smoother and cleaner game play
-They have new physics engine, with new suspension, tire, aero modeling.
-200 more cars available than GT5 (1200 available when game releases with additional cars released after launch)
-33 locations, 71 course layouts with 19 brand new ones
-new tracks released every month via dlc
-Expanded connectivity with other devices such as smart phones and tablets.
-new course maker that encourages players to created their own racing communities and championships

Awesome. Hopefully they have better support for the Fanatec CSR wheel. Aside from the irritating start up procedure for PC or PS3 -- which won't change -- GT5 has a tendency to not recognize some of my shifts when using the CSR H pattern shifter.

unless they offer better customization, it will really be more of the same... maybe it's not Gran Turismo enough... but I'd like to see a livery

yeah but i would say it would be well into 2014 maybe show it at E3 next year. we are not talking about a simultaneous release here.. on the other hand the big rumor is Forza 5 will be a launch window game for xbox.

thats why when sony announced PS4 they showed drive club instead... do you think if they thought GT6 would be a chance of being launch window game for PS4 they wouldn't have either showed it or just the logo or something of their halo car driving franchise to plant that seed in people minds?

im good with it coming out for both just as long as i can transfer my save game and not have to start over.. that would suck

I hope all the cars will be in "high-def" and not the "let's copy the cars from GT4 and put them in GT5 with slightly better graphics" bullcrap. And we don't need to have 100 different Miata's and NSX's.

Let's hope they get the "game" part right this time. I loved GT5 physics, but the full game physics only showed up in the later game races and there were simply too few races out of the box. As a game Forza had GT5 beat even though I preferred the driving in GT5

Yep! I'm going to make a detour on my drive back to CA to go to the museum because I didn't see it the first time... AND they let you sit in the 2D!!! (Not that I think my fat *** will fit in it...)

pretty damn hard

so far i got gold on all the practice events... I didnt really try to qualifying yet I just layed down a base time to get a ghost car save

I did spend an entire hour on the Bonus Race #1 with the GTR.. Finally got gold with a 1:00.96.. I usually used bumper view with the gauges but i had to switch to hood view to see the apex better.. that event was tough

I tried Bonus Race #2 just twice and got Silver the 2nd attempt so ive got the shave a second or so off that for gold then I will start the qualifying on the Silverstone full course.

Graphics are better even in Demo form.. the lighting is the most notable and then little things like dust and other effects are better.. Menus are 1000% better as they sucked in GT5

Ok played it about another hour today and got gold on all the events.. I think for the GT Academy Qualifier lap im 1,200th so far

If you change the date on your PS3 to 7/29 it unlocks the GTR NISMO GT3 event

here was my gold 2:09.1 i can do better but i had to change the date back as it locked me out of the Qualifying event

I was ranked 10th but thats because only probably 10 people knew to change the date haha

Downloaded the demo and ran through the events. Not particularly impressed -- I couldn't tell if there was an improvement in the visuals from GT5, but the framerate certainly seemed worse.

So I started GT5 back up and ran some laps on Nurburgring with a Caterham. Much funner than running laps in Silverstone with the demo 370z.

One thing I did notice is they haven't improved the shift recognition for the Fanatec CSR H-pattern shifter. I'll probably have to go to the sequential, but I was hoping they'd improve the support.

anyone tackled the Bonus Lap of Silverstone in the NISMO GT3 GTR yet? I got it down to a 2:06 but thats where im stopping as I cant do any better without purposely trying to slide around every corner and thats not realistic and I hate thats what the top times in the competition have become

I ended up with a 2:21 on the Qualifier and again I drove my *** off to get that the way I would drive it in real life not hitting the E brake and sliding through every turn.. I tried to do that just to see and in the turns I was able to pull it off I was way ahead of my ghost car so it makes sense to me how some of the "top" time are what they are
