Durrr! I even had the upgraded tranny, but I didn't see the option to change the settings for it! That's awesome. It's actually really nice that you can tweak the top speed / gear ratio for each track. Definitely handy.

Oh, and I just won the Veryon for completing the last level on Professional or whatever. I upgraded what I could on it (up to around 1160HP) and did a few test runs with it. It seems very similar to the GT-R. AWD and gobs of power.. and understeer, haha. Should be a fun car to take to some races ;)

Adjusting that final gear ratio was the only way I could go fast enough on the LeMans track.

Anyone else think it was kind of weird that it started the credits after finishing the Professional series ... You can go directly back to your GT screen but still ...

Yeah, haha. That kind of caught me by surprise. It was like "You still have a lot more to play.. but we're going to show you the credits now". Considering I'm only around 20% done with the game, it was definitely an odd time to show the credits.

I guess they figure most people don't make it past 20% in the game. :)
Might be true, maybe the casual player will start playing more online or arcade after that.

In the past, you could finish a huge part of the game with a modded R34 Skyline, but in this game there are so many category races. I hate having to buy a car (a lot of times, less than desirable) and spending all that money modding it, just to win one race, and then you can't use it anymore later on (eg. Toyota Vitz)

Eric 12-02-2010 10:49 AM

Agreed, I hope that we don't need the Samba bus for any other races! :eekdance:

I'd hate to have to spend an extra 50K or so on it for a few extra ponys.

djpathfinder 12-02-2010 11:42 AM

You don't need to buy a SambaBus or mod it for the special Top Gear event.

Eric 12-02-2010 11:44 AM

Yeah, I know that. All I meant was, I just hope that I never need to purchase it and dump money into it for any other event. Some of the vehicles in the game seem pretty useless and I hope that I never need to use them.

You weren't overjoyed at receiving your shiny new premium Prius?

MC 12-02-2010 05:49 PM

does anyone have a car they can share online i can use for the Historic Racing Car Cup in expert?

i really screwed up last night... i had a shelby cobra i won and thought i could upgrade it to compete as it was allowed in that race ( thought it would be cheaper than buying one of these cars)

so i spent like 100K on it and it still wasnt able to keep up.... then when i sold it it didnt give me any credits... so i lost all that money and still dont have a car for that event

Is it needed for a race? If not, I'm selling it.

I was wondering myself how people are getting around this one...these are 15-20 million dollar cars you're competing against...who's got that kind of scratch at this point of the game? I bought a Shelby Mustang with the same intentions, but after realizing I couldn't put any aero additions onto it (to say nothing about power increases), I realized it was pointless.

Win the Lamborghini Exclusive, you'll get the '74 LP400.
Tune it and you should be able to beat it.

One thing's driving me crazy - there's a little number on the race thumbnails. So, hit A-Spec - Beginner Series - Sunday Cup and there are three races. And there are little numbers on each one - mine says 3-2-2 in that order. At first I thought it was the number of cars you had valid to race that event. Then I though it was how many attempts you've had at it. It's not how many times you've won it either.

I can't see anything in the manual about it. Does anyone know what they symbolize? Difficulty maybe? Can't be. Sunday cup is piss.

Maybe it's what place you got in each race...third...second...second...
