A great day for my HOME audio system
Before I tell you about what happened I want to first share a story with you that happened to me a year ago.
Well today I headed over to a bigger best buy than the one near me for some Christmas shopping. After picking up a few things I decided to head over to the magnolia HT section. Their was no one in sight except a guy that worked their named Patrick. After talking to him about my setup and my future ideas I asked him to show me some nice speakers. That is when he took me into the demo room very well setup and organized. Their I laid my eyes on a set of Martin Logon Vantage speakers and the matching center and sub. I asked him what was driving them, he told me a higher end yamaha receiver but could not tell me how many watts. After selecting a music cd from the collection I sat down for a demo. After figuring out which input to select the demo was started. I played guns and roses and could not believe what I was hearing. CRYSTALS CLEAR SOUND! It almost brought tears to my eyes the speakers had a wide stage and very solid but not crazy bass. The next thing I noticed was the high's. They where not annoying nor where they bright. Very smooth even at higher volumes. I was absolutely astounded by these speakers. I mean I had my jaw open about 20 seconds into the song. I think I am going to start saving up for a set of them as the price tag is almost three grand a speaker. But you know what I think it would be worth every...............single............penny. All and all I think they are fantastic speakers and will be heading back there next weekend with some of my own cd's for another demo. If any of you are wondering where I went it was the best buy in Concord Pike in Wilmington Delaware. That was a year ago maybe more. About two weeks ago I set eyes on a set of ML speakers on ebay. No bidders and 3 days left. I said ok max bid 850 do not put it in until 15 seconds left. Last day one bidder other than me. At 15 seconds I threw my bid in. 3...2...1 I WIN. I was so speechless. I had just won a set of ML for nearly 70% off. Of corse they are the older models but still as great as the new ones. Today I picked them up they do need some TLC but I have been playing them for over 2 hours now and I am speechless. This is what music should sound like this is what music does to me and my gosh its amazing. My neighbors went away and i am dog sitting so I am using there setup for now and its great. Will clean them this weekend and put them in my setup. Here are pictures. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...c/IMAG0233.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...c/IMAG0235.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...c/IMAG0236.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...c/IMAG0234.jpg They may not be the newest model but my god this is sure close.
