Halo Reach
 

Anybody pick this up at midnight or sometime today? I picked it up at Best Buy on my lunch break today. It came with a $20 BB gift card. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Maybe I'll get a second controller now. :tup:

I didn't really get into the campaign too much yet. A decent amount of customization in the beginning though. Very detailed from what I can tell. Graphics and gameplay seem better so far than previous versions. I'll know more as I get more game time hopefully tonight.

wasn't planning to until later, unless i hear really good things about it. let me know lol

I am tempted to go buy an xbox and this game now...

i wasn't too excited about odst when they released it as i didn't really hear too much about it so i had rented that one and beat it in a few days. the online arena for odst didn't seem much more than just an small upgrade to halo 3 so i didn't bother buying it. when i saw the previews and gameplay demos for reach, it seemed like a no brainer to go ahead and buy it. i'm usually a midnight junkie but i think i'm getting too old to wait in line with the kiddies.

Bullit, its not too late to ruin your car and put a big plasma screen in the hatch with a 360.

i bought the game last night, played it for a bit. its fun. its still halo though so if you don't like halo, you wont like it, but if you are expecting something totally different, you'll be dissappointed as well. so far i like it.

i posted about it in my other thread but

yeah i got it at midnight last night... went home and me and my brother co-oped it online and beat it straight through without turning off the xboxes.... i think we got done at about 7:30 this morning so the campaign co oped is maybe 6 hours long max

then check this out at 10am i went to gamestop and returned mine and got all my money back... so i will just play my brothers copy for the firefight mode and some multiplayer every now and then

by the way i just woke up haha... pretty fun night!!! nothing like playing a game straight through and watching the sun come up


the game visually is alot better than the others... the stage where your dog fighting in the space ships looks awesome.. that was probably the highlight for me.... those special ability icons you can pick up like the drop sheild or the turn to stone type thing are fairly useful in the campaign and i imagine very usefull in multiplayer

one trick i used was you can get a hologram power that will send out like a cloned image of your character infront of you to draw enemy fire... what i did is i would use that and throw a plasma grenade right behind it as the covenant would always flock to the hologram...

but yeah you can slaughter through the campaign really easy with 2 or more people.... but to go back and replay stages you have to start a solo campaign... thats one of the things i didnt like.. i think with a game like GOW if you beat a stage co-op you could play back through it solo... i this game after i beat it... i went back and it was asking me to start a new solo campaign..

oh the armory is kinda neat.. there are some cool helmets and gear you can make your nobel 6 guy look highly customized and he will appear like that even in the campaign and even in the cut scenes

thats b/c they probably took like 5 designers off the project for reach, and assigned them to ODST as punishment for taking too many cigarrette/bathroom breaks

yeah that was me on halo 3. got it at midnight took the following day off of work and watched the sun come up as i was still playing.

Reach is the game that piece of crap Halo 3 was supposed to be.

Ah come on. Halo 3 is great. ODST was the joke.

Maybe it was a piece of crap because you were crap playing it.
