Driving habits that drive your mad!

Nobody in Los Angeles uses turn signals because if you do other drivers will try their hardest to prevent you from either changing lanes or from turning.

Yeah I hate this! I'm a smoker and it just pisses me off even seeing people smoke in their cars. Its like there is a little meter above their car and you can watch their resale value diminishing.

You can't wait in between driving to the grocery store for a lung snack?!

^^^ Agreed. Most of my friends have quit or don't smoke at all. And the ones that do aren't allowed to smoke in my car. Some of them aren't allowed in my car at all because they smell like smoke all the time.

^ Amen to that. Just because you arent currently smoking doesnt mean the smell doesnt linger on your clothes and hair.
Nothing against the smokers per se, I enjoy the occasional cigar, but never in my vehicle or anyone else's because that shiz is hard to get out.

^ My formula was a smoker's car before I got it. When pulled the center console apart to change the shifter, I found 2 gallon bags worth of cigarette butts under everything. It took a whole hour to clean it out. I was wondering why it smelled weird in the car when it got hot out. After that, the car smelled better, but it NEVER lost the smoker's smell.

My 02 SS was the same. Every inch of that interior got a shampoo treatment (Twice!) and I never got the odor out.

Totally agree, living in Houston has just gotten painful to drive. I have started going into work late and staying later just to try to avoid some of the traffic.

So originally Im from Buffalo, NY. Drivers there aren't too horrible, but I left at only 19 years old, so I didn't have a TON of experience driving there. Then, I was stationed in Omaha, NE where there, I discovered the first group of people who drive UNDER the speed limit like a plague. God that was irritating. Rubber necking was horrible there, and the worst traffic jams happened when the Huskers were playing down in Lincoln, NE. But otherwise, it wasn't horrible.

Then, I got to the Baltimore/DC area. Ho-ly ****. I cant emphasize what a culture shock that was.

-No signaling lane changes.
-Speeding 20+ over the speed limit is NORMAL for EVERYONE.
-Weaving in and out of traffic is the norm (without signaling of course).
-Slamming on the brakes, pulling over onto the side of the road, and throwing it in reverse if you missed an exit is normal. Or just simply drive on the grass.
-Tailgating like a mofo left and right (even when you're doing 20 over already)

And how about parking?
-Big *** trucks/SUVs PURPOSEFULLY parking across 4 parking spots. I have a full size PU. Its not hard to park properly.
-Parking so close to your car, you KNOW they put their door against your car - its how HARD they hit it thats the question.
-Large vehicles parking in designated compact vehicle parking

I could go on - its pointless, though. Other than the amazing seafood and somewhat fun job, I'd give my left nut to go back to the quiet, safe area of Omaha again. Not to mention the car scene has far less ricers there.

People that drive like sheep. It seems that some people don't fully understand the rule: "Slower traffic keep right".

Got new ones to add!

OMFG. I should lobby to make it legal to shoot and kill the following drivers on sight:

The drivers that are at the front of a protected left turn lane and do NOT pay any attention to the light. Then the light turns green for us all to turn, but we're stuck sitting there honking and the tard up front isn't going. Finally, the light turns yellow, he realizes he's about to miss the light, and goes; leaving us all at the light and the cars to turn left backup even more causing serious congestion in the roads and pissing off everyone who just missed that light.

The following dipsh!t should be beaten until they understand what they're doing wrong:

The driver in the front of the left had turn lane doesn't move up and PAST the cross walk, especially during heavy traffic, when the light turns green for our direction of traffic. Instead, it's like they're parked in the cross-walk screwing the rest of the drivers that wish to make a left, specifically the person 2nd in line. Typically, when the light turns yellow 2 cars may turn left. Instead, because the law states that you must be in front of the cross walk to turn left on a yellow, ONLY the front driver can turn leaving the 2nd person in the crosswalk with no way to back up, thus screwing the pedestrians as well.

I get tired of bad drivers, but INCONSIDERATE drivers should be beaten with a cactus, thrown into a dumpster, the dumpster should then be filled with cement, and then dropped into a vat of red-hot molten metal.

I don't know if this has been mentioned...
But I hate people that turn left straight out of the lane, ignoring the middle turning lane thing. In the past few days I have had a bunch of people in front of me do this. Its not even like it was a last minute decision, most of them had their turn signals on well in advance.
