Last day in Fiji
I'm here in Fiji on my honeymoon and its our last day of 10. If anyone ever has a chance in the world to visit this place, I highly suggest you do. Not only is the landscape and the water amazing, but the people and culture will blow you away. Everyone is soooo nice and they go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Been to Hawaii a handful of times and it holds no water to the tradition and culture in Fiji. Not only that but the exchange rate is 2:1 so more activities for less! Last day means bring on the drinks! Binaca(thank you in Fijian) Fiji for the hospitality and the best vacation of my life!

You're bringing back great memories!
Some years back my wife and I backpacked there for 5 months, going native. We lived in the villages on the outer Islands. I brought a hand spear that gave us a steady diet of fresh fish off the reefs much of the time. Ahhhh,........ Yah man, the simple life.

LOL, Wasn't as rough as you might think, thanks to the incredible Fijian hospitality. Once we had the blessings of the village chief, everyone treated us as their family. Even though they had very little, they gave us everything they had!
Mind you, that goes back some time now. These days I'm pretty much a five star resort guy as well, LOL!!

It's crazy that despite the amount of money people spend on the island vs the average weekly income for them being $80 Fijian ($40 USD), they still go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable. No spite in their way of life. I tipped one of the waiters $200 Fijian dollars and he said that it would feed his family of 4 for 2 weeks. He was so thankful he started getting teary eyed. I seriously wanna come back and sponsor one of their schools with books and pencils.

The entire restaurant staff just sang us their traditional farewell song for our last night here. Gonna miss these times..

Wow now I'm thinking about Fiji. I lived in Hawaii for three years and it is a little crowded on Oahu. The other islands are nice but the expense rises. I might have to try this out.
Backpack, a few shorts and a couple of shirts and my Nikon D5000. |

Intercontinental resort and spa on the western side of Fijis main island (Viti Levu). You land in Nandi Fiji which is about a 45 min drive to the resort. Prepare to drive on the left side of the road in your right hand drive rental car or you can take taxis everywhere which can get expensive. Bring plenty of cash (we brought $2000 Fijian) which equals $1000 USD because there are no ATMs at the resort. Hope this helps!
