I work 8 hrs from 7:30-3:30. I start getting ready to leave around 3:15 though. Don't take a lunch break since I'm fasting so I get out earlier for that reason too. Otherwise I would leave at 4.

Only thing the worries me about working in a chemical plant is being on call 24/7, even when on vacation. I'm only an intern now and I've had to come in as late as 2 AM a couple times. Definitely not looking forward to doing that for the rest of my life. I might like working in the lab better just for its more structured time and schedule.
