Rodents lack the biological ability to vomit. Everything they eat must pass into/through their digestive systems. This is why food poisoning is extremely effective against them.

It's not the only determining factor. Their front teeth continuously grow throughout their lives, which is why they constantly chew, to grind the teeth down.

Also, they are mostly cartilage, so they can slip through very small cracks that you'd think were impossible.

That's just from what I've read. One thing I know for sure, though. In icy conditions, rats cannot beat a labrador in a race. I saw that result twice last winter. :roflpuke2:

I can't see my lab running on ice. She's clumsy in the dry.

My guy caught two of the large rodents on separate nights last winter. Both times, the yard was icy from a snow storm that passed. My dog's a sleek, muscular dog, even by lab standards, though.

My siberian husky couldnt stand the winters while we were in upstate NY. She would go 2 feet out the door to pee then go straight back inside.

Shado's are not typically home in a temperate climate. They prefer the Tropical regions where the sweat produced by their body acts as a form of lubricant. When forced to endure sub-tropic temperatures, their appendages retract into themselves also known as 'turtling'. This makes them appear much less menacing and often times hinders them during the mating rituals.
