Most of the Soviet Union stuff was direct copies of US fighters. But with shitty avionics.

Lemers 05-20-2011 03:19 PM

Ask any navy pilot and they will tell you that F14s were overweight and underpowered.

I'd agree, their avionics packages aren't on par with ours, but they have some other gadgets that will pwn our stuff down to the point our avionics won't matter anymore...

So what? They're still badass.

Most of our avionics could track multiple targets and out of range of the weapons. Once within range of US fighters, enemy fighters were still outside of their own window of attack.

BLUF: the enemy was dead before they could even shoot at US fighters

I know, but our rage is our key. So they developed things that neutralize our range, thereby forcing us to come in closer than we'd like, now inside their range. So in that arena, everything is equal and it comes down to maneuverablility and pilot skill. We win in that arena due to our pilots having more hours in the seat.

We always win
