Help me find a good instrumental song for video.

I'm making an artsy video of the Z. Need the beginning of the song to be slow and then jump into fast mode (but not too hardcore). The video is going to be "One Quarter Mile" Style. I really like the song they used, but I'm not going to use the same one.

SO throw me some suggestions please. I don't really want anything recognizable. I want something new and fresh.

Suggest away!

The theme from "The Rock." I'd love to see a car film with that.

frost 02-23-2009 02:09 PM

Calm before the storm - darude

Greg 02-23-2009 02:13 PM

Eric Serra and Jesper Kyd are my favorites when it comes to instrumental scores.

!xoible 02-23-2009 03:07 PM

1. Suicide and Redemption - you need something new and hot
2. Orion
3. Call of Ktulu
4. To Live is To Die

or just look up Joe Satriani stuff

BanningZ 02-23-2009 07:56 PM

I've got a winner I think.

How about, Right where it belongs" by Nine inch nails?

There are two version, one with lyrics, one without.

+1, that or Just Like You Imagined by Nine Inch Nails.

Or there's the song from the Max Payne movie trailers, YouTube - Marilyn Manson - If I Was Your Vampire (Instrumental)

MC 02-24-2009 03:50 PM

The mark has been made - NIN

but its sorta recognizable been in a few things like NFS undercover and the Man on Fire Movie

chubbs 02-24-2009 04:40 PM

Radar Love, by Golden Earring

God I'm old, but it suits the Z.

At first I was thinking "wtf" then I played a few and I like them, but I dont know if they are what I'm looking for. Jesper Kyd Hitman 2 Album is pretty funky and has some good ones.

Oh I was really thinking about doing Call of Ktulu, but not the metallica version. I was REALLY hoping that Apocalyptica had made a cover, but I couldn't find one. I looked at Orion already too. I went to a Joe Satriani/Steve Vai and some other guy concert a while back, it kicked so much ***.

As much as I like NIN, too slow for my video. Will consider it for something in the future. Listened also to "The Warning" from yearzeroremixed album. I love NIN.

Again I am loving the NIN, but those are more for a single commercial type of a video. Great suggestions though. I will definitely look at NIN again periodically because I love the stuff you guys are telling me to use.

The Marilyn one is a little too heavy.. want to make it somewhat universally agreeable and fast paced.

These are a little too dark and downbeat from what I'm looking for.

snaggeltooth 02-24-2009 07:53 PM

RCZ 02-24-2009 07:54 PM

OK then double click on the video again. or just go here

YouTube - One quarter mile in Poland

RCZ 02-24-2009 07:54 PM

Love fade to black, there is an Apocalyptica version that is fantastic but its too downbeat.

Not to derail my own thread, but am I the only one who finds this band sick.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUrW5TikUGw

This is BTW an amazing song for a video...I've been flirting with it...

BanningZ 02-24-2009 07:55 PM

Reminds me of that "what I've done" Linkin Park transformers song.

frost 02-24-2009 07:58 PM

"rain" by robert miles is pretty "artsy." I was listening to it while watching to vid and it fit.

RCZ 02-24-2009 08:04 PM

Is there another name for "rain" I can't find it on napster.

snaggeltooth 02-24-2009 08:08 PM

Wow I really like that one! Goodjob!

Btw OP, I like Apocalyptica too, this is my favorite song by them:

YouTube - Apocalyptica - Sandra Nasic - Path Vol. II.

CrownR426 02-25-2009 10:25 AM

YouTube - Black Identity - Blckr Thn Blck (The Prophet vs JDX RMX)

2:12 :stirthepot:

That drum and bass!

RCZ 02-25-2009 11:18 AM

Awesome song convert! the one from Sin City. Its lacking some contrast between sections which is something I'm after as well. But it sounds great and its fluid and it does have little build ups which is another thing im looking for.. awesome, top 5. I also like the second vol of path, very good. I just dont like the vocals.

Crown - I would use that one starting from the 1 minute mark though. The beginning I don't like all that much, gets awesome after. There are little off key parts in the build up which isn't that big a deal, but it does throw me off. There's just one of the beats thats off and it bothers me hahaha.

!xoible 02-25-2009 11:28 AM

u still looking for instrumentals? if u want regular songs let me know

RCZ 02-25-2009 11:34 AM

well, post it. I could consider it if I like it enough. I'm looking for something a little less "dark" and more energetic, but still elegant.

!xoible 02-25-2009 11:57 AM

when i posted that post i was listening to Orgamestron and Roots (sepultura). some of sepultura's songs give me a rush when i drive.

i would do for whom the bell tolls, or 'wherever i may roam' too

a lot of metallica's stuff works, even the new stuff like "that was just your life"

try a few and see how it looks. what's the video about? u doing donuts? lol

arcticreaver 02-25-2009 12:55 PM

nine inch nails - just like you imagined
souja boy - crank that (i have song with just the beats if you want it)
