Yeah most of my cousins speak great English and most everyone else I know from Cebu know enough to have small conversations in English. But a big part of it for me is just a personal quest to embrace my Filipino heritage. I would love to be able to understand the language and hold meaningful conversation in it. You'll get use to it....that and the gecko's (butiki) climing on the walls and ceilings.

On a side note, is it weird that usually don't date filipino girls because I'm always afraid we're somehow related?
