G37 couldn't but the first generation G did to the E46. That is why BMW had to shove 2 turbos to keep up with the current market.

Both are great cars and me personally, i couldn't get used to the G37 looks after seeing how beautiful G35 coupe was.

How does the G37 get dethroned by the Genesis coupe?
G37 has almost the same accelartion as the 335, Handles as good as the 335 and costs 8k less. I have no clue what you are talking about. Is the 335 worth 8k more? Yes. Why because they have been building the 3-series for decades and they know how to build a solid car but that is where the 8k difference is justified.

im not anything fanboy, im on a Z forum wanting to buy a Z and i owned more than one infiniti before my BMW's. you are missing my argument. say if the 370Z was priced almost as much as Cayman S the Z will have a harder time competing in the market, do you not agree? i know you guys here all love the Z and probably do not give any credit to the "bland lame mainstream with stupid interior" cayman S, but let's get real!

if the G37 was priced as high as the 3er you would see much less of it on the street. people who can afford the 3er are not likely to ditch the 3er for the G37.

i am not saying it's a piece of ****, but the price is a huge part of what makes the G compete. i give credit where it's due, i've had both cars and drove both to their limits!

haha not my words, man.

I'm talking about the magazine comparos. G37 was close but no cigar when compared to the 335i.

But now the Hyundai Genesis Coupe comes and takes the win vs the G37 in all the ones I've seen so far. Edmunds has one out as well as Popular Mechanics. I'm sure more will follow today or tomorrow.

14.5 @ 97mph. Stock 2003 G35(6MT) is faster than this.
G37 does high 13s and traps over 102 mph.

This race would end up genesis losing the G37 by couple of buslenghs if not more. How is that close in any way? G37 vs the 335 is close but not the genesis vs G37.

Dethroned? No it was a better value. The G37 won in most items. They say it is a better driving car, it has more power, etc. The Genesis is just a value at 2/3's the price not a better car.

i have no issues affording a 335i I liked the G better and it is not something everyone drives. I did consider the M3 however but the wife still did not like the styling so cuz she controls the fun hole she won. however once I invest the difference in the cost between the G and the 335 in tt's for the G good luck having the 335 keep up with me.

good point there, but also factore FI'd cars are really cheaper to mod. you can get JB3 or procede V3 and put over 425 lb/tq to the wheels on the 335 for like less than a thousand dollars (or like 1500 if u go procede). if u want to get same output out of NA G37 u gotta put quite a few bolt ons or go SC or TT... right?

im not really hating... to each their own, i enjoyed the G and enjoyed the 3er. it's easy to see which car wins or is "better" in different areas but as a whole it's very difficult for me to admit 6MT G37 > or even = 6MT 335

Very good point. That's one of the biggest appeals of the 335, or even VAG's 2.0T audis or VW's. Super easy to tune. Factory FI you can squeeze out almost 100 hp with out serious modification. I'll be impressed if anyone gets much more than 50-60 hp out of NA mods on the 370Z.
