I have a 3GS and will be upgrading to the 4. I have never had a screen protector on my phone and it still doesn have a scratch on it.

I am the target demographic for screen protectors. I very often subconsciously place my iPod/iPhone in a tight pocket with my car keys. I've done this for so long and seen the ghastly results, that when I bought an iPhone, I made the conscious decision to always buy the cheap plastic scuff absorbers. It works for me.

I don't keep keys in my pocket (thanks to the Z) but it is in my pocket or backpack with change and other stuff and I've dropped it a few times and it's been really durable. I do have a Casecrown on the back though.

FYI, I am not eligible for an upgrade until 2011 so I was curious what kind of deal I would get. So I called the local AT&T store and if you are not due for an upgrade this year it will be an extra $100 to upgrade. So the 16gb model will be $299 and the 32gb will be $399. I think I can still get $200+ for my 3GS so that's what I'll be doing.

I have the 3gs too. The screen is glass so it's very difficult to scratch it. I think I will be getting the 4 too time for a new toy.

I had NO idea this thing has been sitting in my drawer with another broken (in pieces) 3g and a 2g. My friend sold his 3g in perfect condition for $100 cause the 3gs came out so I thought it was almost worthless.

You can still get pretty good money for even the 2G. Just go to craigslist and type iphone in.

I checked att's website and they will charge me $200 to upgrade to the 3gs. So I'm assuming they want $200 more to upgrade to the iphone 4. I sold my iphone 3g on ebay for about $300, If the 3gs can be jailbroken I'm sure there are lots of people that will buy it.

Well I am very disappointed that we did not get it but you know what. I like my new Devour I bought yesterday. It is a bit more complex than the iphone and not as nice to integrate with my macs stuff like calendar and all but still nice. Maybe next year. I will get it when it comes out. One reason it is not coming out is because of the ipad contract with att had a hidden font that renewed the iphone contract for another year. But att people are still going to be pi$$ed because of the new pricing and contracts for the iphone.
