For all of our great soldiers and veterans down the line
We'll always remember your sacrifices today and for all time
To all brave men and women we salute you for all you've done
Because of all our Veterans America is number 1
There never should be a time that America would not know
That the Eagle reigns supreme because our Veterans made it so
This Memorial Day, and every day, Veterans have lasting fame
Give thanks to all of them not one shall have died in vain.
Thank You! Dad :usa:

My father rests in the Knoxville National Cemetery. Prisoner of war as a teenager; Korean war; Vietnam war. RIP dad.

P.S. We have some excellent ceremonies near where my wife and I live. Truly a reverence to those who served this great country.

Thank you. Many respects to your father too. :usa: After Vietnam, my father came home in body only as three wars had taken their toll on him. He was never the same again. Very quiet and only very briefly talked of the wars before he passed.

Sorry to hear it took such a toll on him, my Dad got out after Korea, but doesn't talk much about it either...... unless I ask. He saw far too many of his buddies die I think to talk much about it.

God Bless and best wishes from all of us Canadian veterans to all of our brothers in arms in America. Remember the wives and girlfriends who suffer the hardships too.... :hello:

Thank you for all your kind wishes. It makes it a lot easier being deployed knowing there are people that understand Why we do what we do. It is the American people that give us what we stand for. And it is an honor to be able to wear this uniform and stand next to all my brothers and sisters in arms to defend this great place we call home.

We tease each other a lot around here, but in a serious moment, thank you for serving and protecting what we hold dear :usa:

Went to DC, the Arlington Cementery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier today. Tremendous experience the change of the Guard, playing of the Taps and after seeing all those acres with thombstone of our men and women in the cementery that have died for this country.

Also went to the Vietnam Memorial and to see a Viet Veteran crying is just very difficult to describe how I felt.

Once a soldier you will always be a soldier!

Pics coming soon...
