Breaking the law by getting into the HOV lane was a necessary risk that morning. I'm not upset that I got a ticket. I'm not above the law just because I'm Federal LE myself. I'm upset by how unprofessional the officer was. That being said, 99% of your average local traffic officers wouldn't have cited me that day, based on the circumstances.

You know me so well. Again, I'm not upset about getting a ticket. As I stated, I broke the law and I paid the consequences. It was the officer's behavior that was unacceptable. I was in my personal vehicle, responding to an unscheduled emergency. I don't have lights and sirens on the Z so it's a little difficult to go code 3. Thank you for your thought provoking insight, though.

I don't want to call shenanigans, but AZ (which does not require a front plate) is right next to Cally. As you can imagine, many AZ people go to Cally for the weekend, and I've never heard of ANYONE getting a ticket for not displaying a front plate.
