I'm also getting a root canal for the tooth in front of it. Well, wish you all the best! Please return the favor in about three weeks, lol! |

Someone did mention it earlier but syringe and salt water. Use It! You could be fine without it but if you don't and have an issue it will seriously suck. Keep those sockets clean man.

Yeah, I think for the first day I only had that milk shake, chicken broth, and jello. The next few days I stepped it up with soup and icecream! I think I stuck with mostly liquids for 4-5 days.
I also don't normally take any pain medicine (none in my house even), but I had enough discomfort for the first few days, that I made sure to take it as often as it was allowed. The worst part about it is the holes you are going to have in your mouth. I swear it took like a year for them to fill in. It just felt damn weird, and it was a pain having to clean out all the time. |

It's no big deal. You don't even need anesthesia, ask them for a tranquilizer and some ibuprofen horse pills.

I just went through this 2 weeks ago. Had my lower impacted wisdoms removed. I went under anesthesia. No problems.
I was OK until 3 days later when I developed dry socket. That was painful. It took about 8-9 days until I stop taking Advil. I took the good stuff for 1 day after the extraction. |

Okay so I had my surgery in the morning today (1045 am). It actually took them at least 2 hours+. Oral surgeon asked me that why go through the same process again for the upper teeth. He suggested all 4 wisdom teeth (instead of lower 2 as I have initially planned). I agreed. I loved the "put-to-the sleep" part. I was talking to him and bam! I'm out! Anesthesia FTW!
I came home around 130 pm. I could barely balance myself. It was the weirdest feeling. Bad things: A lot of bleeding from the sites. I have thrown away at least 20-30 gauges full of blood (there's still one gauge in my mouth). Even after 5 hours, it's still bleeding from the left side . My dad just bought me some more gauges. I haven't eaten anything since last night. I tried a little bit of ice cream before taking meds but only a little bit. I can't drink anything either because after I drink the bleeding increases. I am going to try out the teabag method in about 15 minutes and see if that works . Quote:
