5'6"
246lbs

I started it last sunday and I'm still going, its a bitch doing 1hrs of continuous workout with 30sec brakes in between sets, but it feels great after. All the endorphins rushing in and feeling relaxed. On top of the workout, I did a diet of change, more veggies with my meats, and replaced half gallons of ice cream and kind size candy bars with yogurt, fruits and granola bars. So far I have lost 6lbs since last sunday, it doesn't look like it, but I guess I have to keep on going. Rome was not built in a day, and neither will my body (I kinda wish it did)

p90x is effective even if you start out in shape. I did it for about a month with noticeable results, but stopped d/t a busy work schedule. I'm going to try and start it back up. None of that bigger results from less work BS. It's bigger results from lots of hard work!

I heard ya, its usually 10 min warm up, 45 mins of crazy work out and 5 mins of cool down. I though that yoga would be easy, nope. I love it!!! Plus you can pace yourself until you get it, last week was spent about a 1 hrs and 20 mins, now with some of them I can keep up. Kenpo is awseaome, but I need more coordination lol. After the 90 days (I hope I still am on it) I might try out the P90x lean, lose more fat. Man is cardio my worse enemy, but I got to do it.

I was going to do P90X but after my last deployment I found the joys of free weight lifting, now I lift 3 days a week with a 5x5 working on deadlifts, squats, rows, bench, military press with some random little enchancers in between. Been working great so far

I do free weight training and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. from what i hear of p90x it sounds pretty legit. definitely a good balance of strength training and cardio, which is good for weight loss for men. you don't want to lose 150 pounds and then be all scrawny.

Don't worry it's alot of cardio, but it's cardio that is enhanced by anaerobic activity. For example, chest and back workout basically is 150-200 push-ups coupled with 100-125 or so pull-ups (depending on how many you can do per set). You should be out of breath by the anaerobic moves.

Wait til you get to stage 2...new and harder stuff. It's good though. Ab Ripper X..."I hate it, but I love it" pretty much sums it up. I went through the first 2 stages and then week 1 of stage 3 (chest and shoulders) felt much easier. But I got sick and we went on holidays...almost 4 weeks of missing the routine now. I lost 10 lbs (not a lot because I wasn't following the diet, only eating sensibly and cutting out sugars and carbs), noticed a difference in my mid-section, have more toned arms and shoulders and stronger core...not bad for 67 days. It's a huge time commitment everyday though, at around 80-90 minutes per workout. I'm going to start up again in May, from day 1, when I have a bit more time.

I've pretty much finished P90X Lean myself after starting in February, wanting to get into better shape as far as cardio for Basic Training (which I leave for this Tuesday).

I have to say it's worked great for me. I can sprint longer distances in my runs before tiring out. As well as now doing 25 more pushups before my arms feel sore compared to before I started.

Smart move! Unfortunately the drill sergeant will probably detect when you're not acting exhausted like the other out of shape recruits and give you extra.

P90X is a very good program, I started in pretty good shape (I race road bikes/motorcycles) already however, I can tell that over the off-season my cardio/strength has improved.
