I want to buy a nice watch, but I can't stand the thought of spending over $1000 (let alone $2000) for a watch. Help me out!

I think seiko has a good middle-ground of watches. I spent $500 and got a nice titanium one that's lasted a good few years now, but you can get a real looker for $350.

This is the one I have, looks like it's gotten about $150 cheaper over the last couple years.

On a side note Member Zero (Paul) has connections for getting seiko watches dirt cheap. If any ones interested?

I agree. This is my Seiko, about $450 retail, I stole it on Amazon for $290. It's titanium and the alarm function is great.

My coworker (with whom I started my conversation about watches) told me he had THE watch to have....and it was the same one you just linked. Hahaha!

This is another one of those cases where it looks a lot better in person than the pics. Most pics make it look black, but it is titanium and is actually that titanium grey color. The dial is very intricate as well. But styling is very subjective. I get a lot of compliments on it in person, but it is a little different in the styling.

I like the look of yours a lot, classic lines and tastefully done. I wanted a chrono, so I opted for mine.
