Actually I can't really shred, lol, not my style. I mostly play blues and rock, but can cover a variety of styles if called on to do so............. but I hate that................... like a wedding band, yuk. I'd rather be in a downtown club playing uptempo blues rock, like Stevie Ray Vaughn or Joe Bonamassa......... that type of guitar.

How can you call Stevie not shredding? Stevie is the epitome of skill with the instrument! I'm a blues man myself. I had the privilege of having a really good teacher in my teenage years...because my neighbor's mom was a groupie who got lucky.

Gibson? or Fender?

I love SRV, but to me the term shredding, at least around these parts, referred more to a metal style of guitar, or the type of solos Van Halen played........... wasn't dissing Stevie, he's one of my alltime favs. Played a Les Paul until the late 80's, then switched to a Strat ................. now I can't play a Gibson because the necks are so different and I'm used to the Fender .................. prefer a maple neck. I'm playing a Tele now, hotrodded with better pick-ups.

I would love to have a Strat again. I sold my old fender to help pay bills and I got a cheapo Jay Turser elec/accoustic. Its good enough for all the redneck honky tonks around here tho.

See I always think of shredding as improv in the box. but thats just me. Not too big on hair metal. But i do like some of the modern rock nowadays. Unfortunately, most of my recent music has been using FL to make rap beats and hooks for my brother. Its definitely a learning experience. Plus its forcing me to learn piano, which I firmly believe learning piano improves your ability on all other instruments.

I believe I got it abroad. I have not been able to find it in the states. I seem to remember having lots of trouble even buying it online, unless I wanted a full case.
