I think it's alright to keep it all confined to "finer things" otherwise we get to fragmented.

So ............ I broke a lace on my dress shoes. Got me thinking about other options. What are your thoughts on leather monk straps?

Those are pretty sweet, but I don't think I would wear those as a primary dress shoe. I'd go for something a little more subdued and break those out every once in a while.

I tend to prefer the more traditional lace up in that style of shoe. If I am not going to wear a lace up, I would go to a dress loafer, but that's just my style, YMMV :tiphat:

Yeah, I usually go a little more traditional myself, but I've been thinking of spicing things up.

Spicing things up is fine, but not as a primary shoe IMO.

I get what you're saying. What if they were straight black, would that "tone it down" enough for a regular wear?

Is this regular business or just leisure?

If business I would say no, leisure, sure why not.

But one tip for leather shoes, buy two or more pairs of leather shoes and never where the same two days in a row. When taking them off, get some cedar wood shoe trees.
This way your shoes will last 5 times as long.

As many of you know I live in the country on 5 acres where I do a lot of wood cutting. I think I'm sold on these.
