The second principle to remember is that a cigar must be lit with the utmost patience and tranquillity. Nothing spoils the enjoyment of a Habano faster than a badly lit cigar.

Rotate around evenly.

I've heard rumors of some people trying to light cigars with the sun and a magnifying glass so that they would have the purest light. But I'm doubtful that's any more than a wives tale.

If that's a tote, then that's a tote of death.

I'm talking about something like this:

I know some guys will carry those around as a carryall... no way. Not for me.

Though for a weekender JCrew has this Belstaff which is very nice:

But for $395 I will wait until it inevitably pops up on sale for under $200.

Good posts shumby! I completely forgot about not putting the cigar directly in the flame.

That just reminds me of that Acura commercial when the guys are trying to explain why they made certain luxury purchases.

I know the whole rotate while lighting, keep it directly out of the flame bit. I think as long as you can do that you're good... I don't think using magnified sun rays is going to make my experience any better. Well, maybe it will taste better because I had to wait so long to light the damn thing. :icon18:

If it were true, this would be the place to do it (phoenix). A couple years ago, the local news team went and cooked eggs on one of our sidewalks. :shakes head:

Meh, I don't think that would make the cigar taste too awesome. Kinky sure, maybe I'd use the cheap swisher sweets for that.

^ Truth. The best behavior in my entire life can be witnessed in this thread.

By the way, I know that canned coffee is little better than boxed wine, but do you folks have any you like that is NOT from starbucks/seattle's best? I used to take a canned starbucks espresso with me to work, but I haven't had either of those brands since the boycott.

frost 07-06-2010 10:35 PM

Also, I asked this in another thread, but this seems like an appropriate place. Any of you have someone who cleans your house? If so, what do you pay? I found on some other boards most people are paying .035 per sq/ft, or ~$20 an hour. I'm thinking about doing this but I keep seeing comments like "well, it's not as good as if I had done it myself." Thoughts?

Cuff links, anyone?
