The middle watch is a Seiko Flightmaster (model SNA411). It's a quartz (battery) chronograph with alarm function. A pilots watch, equipped with a slide rule on the bezel for performing calculations.

You can get these now for between $210-$300 depending on where you buy from. When they first came out (many years ago) they retailed around $500.

This watch is also available in gold (SNA414) and blue bezel with white dial (SNA412).

This is the watch I am gunning for this Christmas

I'm hoping around then I can snag one for under $3,000. :yum:

Before my dad became ill (he's stable now). We tried locating my grandpa's pocket watch. man i wanted that pocket watch so bad even if it wasn't working. It's a very old pocket watch too. Since things didn't turn out well, I'll probably never find it now.

m4a1mustang 08-17-2010 08:19 PM

That's too bad you didn't find it. :(

This is my watch. $55. I wear mine 24/7 and they get beat to hell, they typically last 16 months or less.

Over the years I've had an Omega, Sinn and a ton of Citizens. Here is my newest one - Marathon JSAR modded by IWW -

That place definitely found the right thread. That a finer thing in life if I ever saw it. I've spent the last half hour trying to find something here that compares.

nuTinmuch 08-18-2010 10:55 PM

I wish I could wear a decent sized watched. I'm pretty much the skinniest person in the world so nothing looks right on my wrists. It's horrible.

Watches never fit me snugly, because my wrist-to-hand ratio is out of whack. So if it's big enough to get over my hand, it's just a little too large for my wrist.

I'm surprised Phoenix doesn't have something comparible

That's why you stick to a leather strap. Just find a watch you like that has lugs that will nicely accept a leather strap, then go buy a nice one from Hirsch or Di-Modell and you've got yourself a great piece.

This dude is brilliant, the only guy at the shop and he gives deep tissue massage...bet he knows every inch of those ladies. He is my new Hero (sorry Frost).

UPS just swung by and delivered another diver watch I ordered. Orient Mako. I got it on sale for 50% off and wanted to see what all the fuss was about since so many people rave about them. Let's just say it's worth every penny and then some.

Matt 08-20-2010 01:36 PM

How much did it run you? From where?

m4a1mustang 08-20-2010 01:41 PM

$95 shipped... lol. From Orientwatchusa.com. They were having a 49% off sale with the code Surprise49. It expires sometime today so not sure if it's still on.

Edit: Looks like they're doing a 30% sale right now with code Today30, so a Mako would be $133 shipped, which still is a good price. You won't find this quality in a mechanical watch under $200.

kenchan 08-20-2010 02:01 PM

mustang-which one is that? looks good. im very harsh on watches so this might work for me too. :p

m4a1mustang 08-20-2010 02:05 PM

It's the Orient Mako. They offer it in a few different color combinations.

kenchan 08-20-2010 02:06 PM

cool, which color is yours? i like that darker hue.

m4a1mustang 08-20-2010 02:08 PM

It's the blue one.

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_qiUkqaHCPFw/TG...820_110344.jpg

Pics don't do it justice, it's a really cool blue!

The orange and yellow versions are very popular.

A few hours ago I ordered a black one while they were still doing the 49% sale. :)

kenchan 08-20-2010 02:14 PM

cool. so they give you a free something with each purchase, huh? i like the blue.

m4a1mustang 08-20-2010 02:16 PM

Yeah, just kind of random luck of the draw thing. With my blue one I got this one, a ladies quartz watch:

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_qiUkqaHCPFw/TG...820_121827.jpg

It's actually pretty nice. I'll just give it to my mom this weekend since obviously I can't wear it. :rofl2:

Very interested to see what I get with this next watch. Hopefully it's something I can use!

m4a1mustang 08-20-2010 02:20 PM

Guys I just tested it, "Surprise49" is still working. So if you want to buy the watch try entering that code and you'll get 49% off.

kenchan 08-20-2010 02:39 PM

cool, good that ive been checking out the site a little cause i was about to pull the trigger on the mako black. :D

m4a1mustang 08-20-2010 02:43 PM

Did you do it? I'd do it now before they really pull that offer code.

kenchan 08-20-2010 02:45 PM

yah, im checking out another watch at the same time... eerrrrr...

Word. A small yacht would still be awesome... but owning the Maltese Falcon... holy crap!

Looks crazy. I wonder how much?

m4a1mustang 08-20-2010 04:30 PM

Its original asking price was about 140 million then they dropped it to 100 million.

Jamaica 08-20-2010 04:36 PM

Damn you know how much stuff can buy with 100 mill?
