My Z is probably pretty 'riced' in the eyes of the cops, but so far none have hassled me. In Torrance they're pretty harsh, but it seems like they've grown used to seeing a lot of modified import vehicles that, for the most part, are still street legal. I guess it helps to work in the city where Toyota and Nissan have big presences...

The police are more than likely looking for stolen parts from chop shops!

Just get a new car....geezz

A ton of people are going to hate on me for saying that but it's what I believe to be true. Let the flaming begin.

And you know this because you're a cop and deal with them all the time right? :ugh2:

Dont make stupid assumptions because you like to base a population on a statistic.

I can't say whether or not cops do the job because they want to help the citizen or because it only takes 25 years to get a good pension along with decent pay. I will say this, however, law enforcement (specifically police) is the only proffession in which you can have a bad day and take it out on the people you work for (yes, cops do actually work for us, as long as you pay taxes). If I said half the **** cops have said to me to my boss I'd be unemployed.

I'm surprised it took so long to hear this. I can only base my assumption on the group of cops I know (yes, I do know quite a few police officers including my own uncle and father) or have dealt with. I will never meet every cop in the world so I must base my knowledge on the ones I have. It's as simple as that.

Of course if you only based your knowledge on the officers on the board linked above the outlook would be even worse.

Eh not really. That dude was making himself look stupid and kept repeating himself when he was given an answer.

We can agree to disagree because it looked to me like they were enjoying bashing that "ricer" way too much.

Its alright. When I'm on the job I'll remember I'm doing it so you have the right to disagree with me.

The OP may have not been the best at arguing his point, I could see that early on, but when I read this I closed the thread:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Just as an FYI I profile your POS rice rocket and YES I would have you pop the hood. It is not a search in MD to have you pop the hood. I am allowed by MD law once I have my PC for a stop to conduct a FULL vehicle inspection on the side of the road to include driving it for a breif distance if I so choose to. However thats a bit much. Poping the hood looking for the turbo or the NOS tubes is plenty enough for me.

If you refuse? Then you get to go to jail for failure to obay a lawful order and I yank you through the vent window, you go to jail, and I impound your car......after I inspect it."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Great attitude for a cop. and they wonder why they're so universally loved. That guy should retire and take an anger management course.

Liquid_G 04-13-2010 03:36 PM

I stopped reading at this line from one of the cops on there..

"First off, your 4th Amendment rights are not in question here. When a cop looks under your hood, it's an inspection....not a search."

FK YOU *******.. what a crock of ****..

If I was that guy I'd be pissed too, but he probably picked the wrong forum to bitch about it on.

Another actually mocks his vehicle becuase it has a big wing.

id say matters where you live. i hate tickets, only love my job to watch grown men cry when they get caught doing **** they shouldnt (beating wifes, burglary, robbery ect).

i though the same before as well of the %, but its hard to see from the public perception. it is not feasible to explain why everything is done what done, and can come off as rude.

yeah, i pulled you over for window tint. u think its crap bs and i should be reducing crime. do i respond the only reason i pulled you over reallllly is b/c there are 4 shaved heads in the car, in a gangster neighborhood? no, bc its not worth it.

my little rant.....

And I thank you for performing that aspect of your job. It's the police officers that have the attitude like those posted above that truly bother me.
