Open wide for Ford, GM & Chrysler, 'cause here they come!

$16.4m is a drop in the hat for Toy Yoda.

heh, the US govt. who practically owns GM after investing heavily in the automaker to save it from certain bankruptcy, is levying record fines against Toyota.
I am not asserting that the govt is doing anything unethical, because I don't know. (But I would not doubt it.) I am just saying you don't have to look far for the appearance of a conflict of interest. |
US Gov fines Toyota for $16M is like the NBA fines Kobe Bryant, LeBron, or Shaq $3000 for making unruly comments about the officials.
The players just write a check for another $3000 and donate to their favorite charity. |

You have the President of the US that is backed by the UAW, and own GM...lol. It's a joke. Oh well Toyota will get through it. |
$16 mill, big deal.
I still say 99.99% of these 'incidents' are complete BS just like the housewife in NY whose 'black box' showed she was mashing the accelerator pedal and not the brake pedal. Most people are stupid. |
toyota broke the law by selling crap like yaris which has no toyota quality.

That guy. He's only out for $. The dude is several hundred thousand in debt. The national news showed the rotors and pads. No way he was standing on the brakes like he claimed.

Will insurance companies even cover the Toyota models that have issues? |
Quote:
Insurance companies will insure anything, but might raise the rates on those vehicles for a short time period which I even doubt. People are still buying Toyota's, why?, because they are smart enough to understand BS from the media and real issues. |

Thank You, an Intellectual. =) |
I personally think the whole toyota thing is ********. most of the times the people that get into the news end up being people who didn't even use their brakes.
and seriously. neutral? turning off the engine? |

However, I have a 07 RAV4 with ZERO porblems in the past 3 yrs. I will not have a problem buying another Toyota. Plus my first new car was a Toyota Corolla SR5. But I hope my insurance doesn't go up just because is a Toyota. |
The only toyotas that have problems if any, are the ones that are made here in the states =(
|
IF this goes through, it could lead to a whole new slew of lawsuits against Toyota by people with "claims" of this defect.
|
^^ If it gets to that point you may see a New Name appear.

The guy in Cali was also proven to be full of BS. Black box data proved he was using both the accelerator and the brakes. Dude is nothing more than an adult Balloon Boy. Feds reviewed black box data. And apparently the cop did not get in front of him as originally stated, er, hyped. The whole thing is media hyped nonsense. Just like Audi 5000's back in the 80's. I bought a nice chunk of Toyota stock at 71 at the height of the media frenzy. I'm happy. |

Let's analyze the actual data we have and ignore the government and media talking heads for once. |
