Default Engine clunking/smoking after oil change- HELP!!

Hey guys,

I just changed the oil in my car (my first oil change btw). I followed the instructions on ak's DIY thread. I drove around the block a little and checked for leaks. There aren't any. I turned it back on and now it's clunking and smoking pretty bad. It also looks like I burned off almost a quart trying to start it. Now it won't turn on at all. Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Did you get anything else in that engine when you put the oil in?
What oil?

Btw- I don't know if it makes a difference but I used Castrol ester oil That I got on amazon because it was cheaper than Nissan ester oil:

Technical Chemical - Ester Oil, 32 oz. (6710):Amazon:Automotive

What you're describing sounds like oil in your fuel line or at least oil in your cylinders. Are you certain it was filled before you drove it? Any chance of a foreign object in the oil or oil filter?

You probably drained out the manual transmission fluid instead of the engine oil - I did that once.

This is either another April fools joke, or its about to get real ugly for you. From the picture, that isnt motor oil at at. Its refrigerant lubricant. Oh man this reminds me of another thread where a guy put Brake oil in his engine.

Do you think I should try to flush out the oil then? If it's ester oil (recommended by nissan) it should be fine right?

At least PM me to say you didn't really put A/C lubricant in your engine.
