And Verizon will become the new blacksheep like ATT is now... :ugh2:

The beauty of America, its one big game of Tag. Its just a matter of who's 'It' right now...

Wrong! Verizon does have more subscribers than AT&T. Same thing was said after Droid came out but Verizons 3G is better then ever.

Well, first the iPhone has a lot more subscribers in the US versus the Droid currently. Second, AT&T is currently the largest network by 0.5 million users (plus or minus per day). Verizon also has no phone which competes equally in network traffic as AT&T does; the Droid is a start but is no where near the usage yet.

Yes there are more iphones out there then droids but verizon has more subscribers than at&t. Also everyone I know that has a Droid exceeds 1GB a month easily. I have never come in under 4GB a month and have peaked 9GB. That is a lot above what my iphone friends use, 500MB or less. 3 of the 9 people that I know that have droids exceed 3GB a month. My droid uses 500MB a month on just the background tasks such as syncing email. They are definitely not in the same usage league, droid is used a lot more. Ask your friends. If you don't know too many, ask people on forum and find out for yourself.

People that get droids are tech savy and live and breathe this stuff. Most iPhone users are people who are not tech savy enough to use a more complicated smart phone, and therefore aren't as enthusiastic about using it.

Ummmm, I have plenty of people who use both iPhones & Droid and you are forgetting one factor, the youth. I probably do 1-3GB on my Droid but I did 3-6 on my iPhone (actually got a call from AT&T about it). The younger generation using the iPhone is going through data more so than they do at home on a standard computer, it is a big shocking. Yet when you think about all the simple, stupid, apps the iPhone has which need to call back to a server then it adds up. Droid users use a lot of data but the number of iPhone users plus the usage of their phones is staggering compared to any other phone on the market.

Also, Verizon only has a few solid phones which are big data usage phones. AT&T has many top phones, besides the iPhone, which use a lot of data but are in smaller numbers. And you are correct, Verizon jumped up on AT&T because of the Alltel purchase, I neglected that info. Also note, the iPad is soon launching and while not 100% 3G device, I can bet a good 40-60% of owners will be on 3G more than wifi.

You added to your quote, actually this would be the opposite effect as you think.
Tech users do use a lot more data, but actually do it through other means. Netbooks, tablets, etc. which many are still on a data service provider but might be on other networks through a company, while your non-tech user will use the iPhone more to do everything. I prefer pulling out my netbook then using my Droid if I can, mainly because my netbook is a lot more powerful and more customize to do quicker interactions online & off.

In this area they SUCK! I did had Verizon for over 2 yrs until they dropped the service in PR. They also dropped connection/signal/towers when they sold it to another local company. I need communication down there, especially during vacation. ;)

So far me AT&T!
