Ready to buy a scope for my AR and need your opinion!
I'm finally ready to buy a budget scope for my ar15. I don't know much about scopes other than what I've read. I don't have any experience with them on rifles so, this will be the first for me. I have a couple of links to optic planets website.
I would like your "expert"opinion on the 2 scope that I'm looking to buy. They have specs on both the scopes on the website and it would be super duper nice if you guys can tell me the pros and cons between the 2 scopes. On the redfield spec: Elevation Adjustment Range (MOA): 56 Windage Adjustment Range (MOA): 56 What does this mean? Is this good? How is this comparable to the Nikon prostaff? Also what about the eye relief? Which one is better between the 2? Redfield Revolution: Is the accu-range really needed? redfield revolution scope Nikon ProStaff: Is BDC rectile really needed? Nikon prostaff scope To mount the scope on to my ar i'm looking into buying the Leupold Quick Release Weaver Style QRW Rings: Quick Release Weaver Style Rings 30MM Low Gl or MT. I don't know what the difference between the GI or MT?. In your opinion is the 30mm mount to low? Or should I stick with the 1" mount? What do you guys think about this mount? Leupold QR weaver style rings Also i'm i would like to get this as well: Butler Creek Flip-Open Scope Covers: Butler creek If there is any other suggestions of brand of scopes similar to what i want would be great to. Thanks.

Ok. As long as you dont have any "variable distances" you shouldnt need the accurange. Meaning you shoot 200m, then you need to shoot 400m. In Boot you shoot an M16 thats probably 10 years old at 500m with open sites, so at 100yds I would say scope is a personal preference. But the Redfield should be fine, and do whatever you need it to.

Hey tvfreakazoid what about this? I want one just cause it could be used for CQB, not as good as eotech or aimpoint, but close enough. Plus if you want to reach out you got the 8x both are going to be pretty damn expensive YouTube - Leupold CQBSS 1.1-8x24 mm Rifle Scope YouTube - Schmidt & Bender 1-8x24 PM Short Dot |

I'm new to the AR seen and I would love to have a acog. But I don't care what anyone else says about them or other higher end optics, they are waaaaaaay over priced. If I had a chance to buy one on ebay for that cheap i would of. Your very lucky.
It seems to me that gun accessories are way over priced. These companies like to rape your wallet. But people do buy them.

Those seem pretty sweet. How much???
What is the eye relief like? Like I said before i don't know anything much about scopes. I noticed that when I look through the scope It seems i have a hard time focusing and bothers me a little. It's not like if you look through a acog where i can have both eyes open and it doesn't bother one bit. I was also thinking about getting one of these budget optics. If guys had to choose between the 2 which one would it be? I am open to suggestions if there is something better than these optics in similar price range. Also which size mounting ring would I need for the optics (I have a POF AR? The iron sight I use is a MI low profile)? Vortex strikfire optic Or Tasco propoint optic Quote:
