Is anybody here a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)?
The title says it all.
How did you get to your position, obviously besides the test portion? (i.e. prior jobs) What do you enjoy about your job? What does your typical day look like? How is pay? Any answers are greatly appreciated. -Confused college student |

Dude I sit for level I in June. Check the CFA website, they have all of the stuff you are asking about. Also, you can join your local CFA chapter as a student member... I suggest doing that so you can start your networking.
I have quite a few friends that already passed all three levels and hold their Charter... the money is good depending on what work you end up doing. If you work in equity research it will really help you out. Its not the be all end all but if you are serious about investments its a good idea... just be prepared to throw your social life away for 3 years minimum.

Not all that great. Lots of stuff interfering so I am also making arrangements to take the December exam just in case. I work as a trader and research lead now for a financial services firm so I know the stuff, I just haven't been able to get the studying in that I really need as work is so hectic and some other personal things have gotten in the way.
Sucks to spend as much as I did on registration and the materials, but I'll at least sit for it and take it again in December if I have to. But yeah -- if I knew how things would be turning out this year I probably wouldn't have registered for June, but maybe I'll get lucky.
