Have any of you checked the 350 forums?
 

A friend steered me over there today, and they even have their own 370Z sub section, which is cool, but just from reading a few posts, im shocked at how much slander goes on about our cars, so much misinformation, and cockfighting. Some of the stuff i've read litterally made me throw up in my mouth. See for yourselves... Oh, check the one that someone posted of my drag race, apparently a 350HR is faster...

Seems like more fanboyism rather than Z enthusiasts with unbiased opinions

That forum has a bunch of douchbags!!!

There still some good guys but must just are there to feed there egos.

I have noticed that, there are actually some people there that post unbiased answers and that even show general enthusiasm for Z cars, but man, it just seems so jam packed with people that think their car is the best thing going, I love my 370, but I always give respect where its due.

Most car forums are like this. Seriously. While you get some blinders here, the community is pretty level-headed (for a car forum :V). If you really want to rage, go on over to Camaro5 and search for anything that is not (North :V :V :V :V) American made. There really isn't enough facepalm in the entire world.

think i'll pass on that, i'll probably end up getting pissed, and i'm quite happy right now.

This forum is pretty good for general information, but it has been running slow lately.

LOL I states this in the San Diego Meet thread I made but no one believed me. But seriously... the 35HR's have recorded faster 1/4 miles times than the 37VHR's have stock. And the 350z's are cheap now so you are going to see more high school kids driving them. Today while leaving Fedex, this C6 vette coupe (maybe a 2005) parked next to me and this kid got out of it. He looked my age and I asked him how much he paid for it. He said $22,000!!! WTF. and he modded the hell out of it already. Think he respects any other car on the road? Nope. First thing he said was "wow you paid THAT much for a Z? My car could beat your car launching in 2nd" AND you know what... hes right.

My experience with 350 owners has been pretty mixed. They are either very cool (Z enthusiasts) or total douchebags (total douchebags).

I cancelled my account at that 350 site, it's not "my 350" site anymore LOL
I too got fed up with all the trashing of our 370, as well as the weenie bois there trashing anyone mature and responsible who tried to post honest, unbiased information. The truth is, many have a car that by itself, depending on the year, may have a book value of $10 to $15 thousand. They have a ridiculous dollar amount of add ons and could nowhere come close to recouping their money if they traded for a 370. So after our cars came out all they did was trash, trash, trash. I decided to not get pissed anymore at the comments so I deleted my account......... bunch of immature weenies if you ask me.

Same thing happened with the G37 was being released, IB had to make a new site because there was too much hate.... now that site is...aaaaaaaahhhhh.... ghost town ....lol

That is what's sad, many of us are true Z enthusiasts, and have owned Z cars going back many iterations, including the 350. We love all Zs, they only love the 350, and fein respect for the original 240.

Most of my friends owns 350Z but they are not douchbags, they like my car a lot.

But the different is that we are Z enthusiasts and get along pretty well.

There are some good guys over on that board, but you do have some goons as well. The 370 trashing is pretty rampant though, I agree. Most of the trash talk comes from 07-08 owners who I guess are mad that they could have waited a year an gotten the 370. Also, I used to own an 08 350 and while it was an amazing car, it wa certainly not faster or better than the 370. To each their own though.

as for the 350z owners, i guess you can say most of them are jealous that their cars have the older outdated design and our cars are the new hot thing on the market. probably like how 911 owners are jealous that the cheaper lesser cayman and boxster tend to outhandle their 911 on the twisties of the track

Somehow I doubt the 911 owners even care about the Cayman/Boxster, if they even know they exist!

They're just jealous because the 350 looks too long. It's out of proportion and all wrong looking. And that back end flattening out towards the back instead of a continuous slope. Yuck. Dated.

well in all seriousness the 350 has been out much longer than a 370. give the 370 time to get driven by good driver and those times will be topped.

Sort of. There was never really any hate in the Mustang world with regard to new models. There was some tension when they dropped the old 5.0 pushrod for the 4.6L OHC, but that didn't last long before everyone got along again.

It just seems that our community is much more fragmented than say the Mustang, Corvette, or Camaro communities. We look at our cars as 350s, 370s, 300s, etc., instead of "Zs."

Which is fine... but we could do without the hate!

Same with me, I know a guy who was an 08 Roadster, really cool guy and is a sports car enthusiast another guy in a 350 was next to me at a light was so excited he looked like he just saw his favorite car in the world, giving thumbs up and waves. Then theres a guy I see on occasion at a convence store with a 350 biggest douche, he sees me pull in, gives me a tasty look, and won't look at me again. Its like dude give me a break a Z is a Z and nothing will change that. I'd like to tell him I like his Z but since he doesn't seem like a friendly kind of a guy I won't bother becuase I don't need him getting all My350 on me. Its funny everytime I see him I think of my350 and the 370 Hating.

Ya know, i've been on a few forums, G35's, DSM's, 4th Gen Eclipse to name a few and I honestly have to say that this one probably has the classiest and most mature people around on it, theres bickering here and there, a disagreement or two, but in general, we all get along well, its almost like a brotherhood. Nobody really condemns people for their opinions, and its awesome reading when other people are pioneers in certain projects with the Z, I've learned so much here. Thanks everybody for making the board fun.

Yeah, this really is a fun forum. Like I said in another thread, this is the first one I've ever actually paid for membership.
