Sort of. There was never really any hate in the Mustang world with regard to new models. There was some tension when they dropped the old 5.0 pushrod for the 4.6L OHC, but that didn't last long before everyone got along again.

It just seems that our community is much more fragmented than say the Mustang, Corvette, or Camaro communities. We look at our cars as 350s, 370s, 300s, etc., instead of "Zs."

Which is fine... but we could do without the hate!

Same with me, I know a guy who was an 08 Roadster, really cool guy and is a sports car enthusiast another guy in a 350 was next to me at a light was so excited he looked like he just saw his favorite car in the world, giving thumbs up and waves. Then theres a guy I see on occasion at a convence store with a 350 biggest douche, he sees me pull in, gives me a tasty look, and won't look at me again. Its like dude give me a break a Z is a Z and nothing will change that. I'd like to tell him I like his Z but since he doesn't seem like a friendly kind of a guy I won't bother becuase I don't need him getting all My350 on me. Its funny everytime I see him I think of my350 and the 370 Hating.

Ya know, i've been on a few forums, G35's, DSM's, 4th Gen Eclipse to name a few and I honestly have to say that this one probably has the classiest and most mature people around on it, theres bickering here and there, a disagreement or two, but in general, we all get along well, its almost like a brotherhood. Nobody really condemns people for their opinions, and its awesome reading when other people are pioneers in certain projects with the Z, I've learned so much here. Thanks everybody for making the board fun.

Yeah, this really is a fun forum. Like I said in another thread, this is the first one I've ever actually paid for membership.

Actually I like a lot of things, Audi R8, most Ferraris (except for the california cuz it's junk), Carrera gt, 911 gt3 and gt2, bmw 3 series, aston martin (though it would help if all their models didn't look exactly the same!), lambo, GT-r, etc...

No one can deny that corvettes are very fast cars. But no one can deny they are built like crap too. Over here the cheapest base vette has an msrp of about 67k. That's more than a fully loaded 335i and actually pretty close to the M3 price. Pretty inexcusable to charge so much money while offering such a poor quality fit and finish. Nissan updated the interior significantly for the 370z even as its price dropped relative to the old car. Couldn't chevy at least put some effort into improving the vette build quality?

I know I know, we just like giving you a hard time.

As far as build quality in the chebbies goes... the are actually well built, it's just the choice of materials and overall design of the interior. It LOOKS like a $50k car from the outside and by all means performs and drives like one, but it's like the designers just gave up on coming up with something nice for the cockpit.

I suspect, though, that whenever the 'Vette gets its next refresh the new cockpit is going to be nice. The newer GM vehicles are getting pretty nice now on the inside (ever sat in one of the new Buicks?), so I think the Corvette will get a much needed makeover on the interior.

He looked my age and I asked him how much he paid for it. He said $22,000!!! WTF. and he modded the hell out of it already. Think he respects any other car on the road? Nope. First thing he said was "wow you paid THAT much for a Z? My car could beat your car launching in 2nd" AND you know what... hes right.
I believe there has only been one time posted faster than a 370z engine and it was a 13.1 (we have 13.2 or .3 stock with forum members), and that time posted has never been done again, next best time in the list was a 13.3/4, but this discussion is for another time/place.

I am on that forum only to view the Texas regional section so I can see what shows, meet ups, etc. are happening. Many of the guys are coming here to post about them now so I can go there less and less.

I don't know if you frequented some of the Mustang forums within the past year or so, but theres been some hating in regards to the new bodystyle Mustangs. Seems for the most part the 94-04 guys like the new style but all the people with 05-09 hate it. When I was looking back in September there was really some hating going on.
