^^^ was it good? did the story of jacob and MIB help answer some questions? I have no TV and watch it on hulu so I will find out tomorrow

it puts such a new perspective on the show you kinda just got to watch it before i can even say anything... like it answers alot of long running island mysteries but it left me with a few big questions that i think i know the answer too but am not sure...

i was suprised that i called alot of what happened but there was alot i didnt foresee

ok i thought on it a little and here is what i think was goin on


crazy witch woman raised MIB and jacob as a loophole of her own .. she raised one to take over for her and one to kill her/free her..... at first she loved MIB more i think hoping to make jacob jealous but MIB was like a free spirit and wanted to leave.. when he did she turned to mommas boy jacob and made him protector... then she somehow destroyed that village ( did she summon the smoke or was she the smoke i have no damn idea?) and the messed up the orchid well.. she knew that MIB would come and kill her ( thats why she said thank you) notice he stabbed her with that knife without saying anything to her just like he told richard to do to jacob and dogen to him..... so she played both of them sort of i guess she had be protecting the island for so long she wanted an out...

now who knows what was down in that cave but it fused with MIB's soul and left his body.. at first i thought that OMG the smoke monster is seperate from MIB and was just pretending to be him to jacob in the convos....just like locke and everyone else dead....but then i thought why would the rules still apply and why would he still want to go home and talk about a crazy mother... i mean when he looks like locke is doenst say he is locke but the smoke monster really does have MIB's his soul.. its still in there just fused with the light ... i think of it like venom sort of.. so i guess the island as a cork story is true that the light energy thats fused with MIB cant leave or everyone dies...



but one question i have is.... ok obviously these were romans and the big rumor was it was supposed to be 23AD.. ok so what about the egyptian stuff? that had to come thousands of years before... and remember the room under the temple with anubis summoning the smoke? ok thats proof the smoke monster existed before MIB was thrown inthe the light

good observations... MIB took on the role of 'smoke monster', a role that must be as long-standing as 'protector'... for the 'mother' it was just a matter of figuring out which would inherit her role as 'protector' of the island

so now we know Locke becomes the new 'smoke monster' - who's the f'ing 'protector'??? lol

... and more importantly, how does the island relate to the rest of the planet? first plane of hell, as per mythology ??? classical biblical "purgatory" ???

Ok so...MIB is still the same as in smoke form, but he has no body now? Also since that light source is gone, was it like the most important one, cause remember when locke turned the same wheel that MIB installed in the well, the light is still there. Also since MIB body has stayed in the cave for so long (skeleton remains) I'm guessing he can still show his true form, but what happened to jacks dads body? It was not in the castket....

yeah his soul like fused with whatever that light was.... i dont think the smoke is just pretending to be him and his just a collection of memories i mean that does explain why he said say hello to my son as christian.. but then again that was part of the manipulation of the canidates... and besides his fake mom said that he wouldnt die and it was worse than death so i think it really is MIB as smoke... just his body laying there kinda threw me for a second...


good question about the light.. i dont think all of it was absorbed by the smoke... the wheel well isnt the same place where that cave was MIB was thown in.. so there are still pockets of it scattered around i assume


i bet that is where widmore wanted desmond to go as i bet it is actually electro magnetism and he wanted so see if desmond can withstand it? the fake mom said something about man wanting more of it and widmore to me seems like he is power hungry

yeah i think he can take the form of anyone not buried.... as far as where christian is.. im gonna guess or just fill in the blank... that MIB hid the body to keep the ruse going that he was actually christian.. wasnt yemi's body missing too? i think if jack or eko found the bodies they would realize they were being tricked

Okay, finally, I have to ask, simply because it's been driving me nuts for a year and a half: what's going on with showing the other half of the outrigger shootout?

CC: The outrigger shootout is not something we're bending around in gyrations so we can solve it. In the grand scheme of the show, that is a fairly obscure piece of the show. It is your particular obsession...

DL: ...and you're not alone in it.

CC: You're not alone in it. And yes, it would have been great if we had had the opportunity to close the time loop. But you can't get everything done and keeping the narrative going in a straight line. This is one of those things where we made a very conscious choice to ask, "What are the big questions? And most importantly, what are the paths of these characters? Where do they lead?" And we followed those paths and tried not to trip ourselves up getting too diverted from that. We felt that that's the thing that's ultimately going to make the finale work or not work. We got to the point where we made the finale we wanted to make, that was our approach, and I think it was the only approach we could take. We sat here in my office, had breakfast every day for six years, talked about the show, and we used this gut check methodology, where if we both loved something and thought it was cool, that would go in. We applied that same methodology to the finale, and that was the only way we could do it. We came up with a finale that we thought was cool, that was emotional and one we really liked. That's the best we could do.

DL: When we wrote that scene and somebody started shooting at them, we knew exactly who was shooting at them. That is not a dangling thread that we don't know the answer to. That being said, as we started talking about paying that off this season, it felt like the episode was at the service of closing the time loop, as opposed to what the characters might actually be doing in that scenario. It never felt organic. We decided we would rather take our lumps from the people who couldn't scratch that itch than to produce an episode that was in service of putting people in an outrigger and getting shot at.

dude... do not be enamored by this nonsense... seriously - they left 100 questions un-answered and when they choose to touch on something like adam and eve from season 1(?) - its just to try and convince us that they planned it all along... the truth is- they never knew who adam and eve were going to be let alone even if they were going to touch upon it again... they just go back and try and put things in context for us... the ending is going to be obvious... and I do not expect anything revealing... The last episode did not tell us much... other than where J and MIB (and his motive) come from... still does not address what the island is... and a million other questions... I would not have been surprised if the show had ended up announcing that the world really was ruled by polar bears and that's where the one back in season one came from... I had really high hopes for this show - but it is just entertainment and not some brilliantly executed scheme - they just strung us along and now they are having a hard time living up to the hype...

Lol, I do agree, it been ages and yet he has no name, even though his biological mother did not know it was twins and only had one name. I mean his crazy mom could have given him a name.
