The new whip's fine but I still miss my Z.

I just wished that the market wasn't as greedy as it's been or I'd been in one for sure.

I still have my 70 240z so I'll be a Z owner for life maybe after the markets cools I can look and see if I can get a deal but for now a HELL NO!!

My BMW slash Supra is fricken awesome man :icon17:, I love driving it.. I've done a few things to it, but there's still so much more to do, there's a few carbon bits in the engine bay I wanna buy, and a set of side skirts and a nice diffuser is on the list too..other than that, no regrets brother. The last I saw of my Z, the kid was thrilled to have it, so I did well.

But your STi isn't cross-contaminated with another brand building it. I'd actually put alot more faith/trust in Subaru than bmw.

Would I buy a new Z? Absolutely!

Unfortunately, my current lifestyle is not conducive to a sports car. If they ever get rid of those ridiculous dealer markups I would seriously think about it.

Checks all the boxes for a JDM. Beauty is in the eye in the beholder so who
cares. It’s not a $200,000 American super car (c8) and it’s not a rebadged BMW (supra) that you can’t take to a Toyota dealer for warranty work because they won’t work on it. Until you go to the BMW dealer that won’t work on it because it’s a Toyota. Good luck with all that.

Could Nissan have done better? Absolutely! But Nissan as a company has one foot in the grave. We should be happy they actually got this “refresh” to the masses. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the last one. They’ll probably come out with an EV on the same platform and that’s when the haters will really scream.

Everyone wanted a cheap, low tech, manual transmission, dependable daily driver. Nissan delivered and the same clowns are whining about it not having enough tech, cup holders, parts bin, and my favorite, an ugly car! A common misconception. FWIW, greed may be a factor, but not as big as people think, esp. now with sky-high interest rates.

We are at the tail-end of COVID, but global supply and supply chain issues still linger, esp. chips/semiconductors with the war in Ukraine (Neon gas is required for production of these and Ukraine supplies up to 70% of the global supply of this).

Then, you have the interest rate increase factor, in which we've had 14 consecutives raises up until a pause recently (but more expected to come), 4 of them being 75 bps and the others at 50 bps, when the typical raise is 25 bps.

Not a good recipe. Short supply, increasing rates excessively, and taking out the money supply in the economy (quantitative tightening), you should expect for prices to stay high and steady. With high interest rates, you have MUCH less qualified borrowers, which theoretically should lower pricing, BUT, you still have the supply issue to deal with.

IMO, you shouldn't expect pricing to cool anytime soon.

I had to change the oil on the wifey's car today. It took me 3 trips to find the oil that I use, and of all places, Home Depot had it :rofl2: I didn't know they sold motor oil.

I will always refer back to this when somebody starts crying :tup:
