Huh… weird… what happened 2 years ago? Asking for a friend… :confused:

I saw that too :shakes head::shakes head::shakes head::shakes head:

"Inflation may be cooling — but drivers can’t seem to catch a break."

Take the media with a grain of salt. Inflation is NOT cooling. Cost of living and cost of everyday goods is higher than ever.

"US consumers are feeling less optimistic about the economy for the first time this summer."

I'm willing to bet a good chunk of this is from people charging the hell out of their credit cards, and finally getting their bills with the rate hikes reflected on their statements.

According to many economists, for every $19 spent, $17 of this is put on credit. So meaning 90% of transactions is credit-based. So in the previous months when people were charging/spending money they don't have, now that the bill came due, this sticker shock is suddenly changing peoples' outlook on the economy.

Inflation is probably closer to 21% if you add in “luxuries” like Food, Housing and Energy.

Core inflation numbers are a joke.

When did we fall so low to where food, housing, and energy became a luxury? :icon17:

Never understood why they would have a separate "core" inflation number. Food and energy is a huge part of the global economy and is a daily necessity, and pricing of these 2 elements ALONE is what's hurting people the most.

That’s the 24 TRILLION dollar question. It’s called “moving the goal posts”.

You people are good with numbers! You know that you can always move numbers around to come up with the preferred answer! :stirthepot:

"The four US cities facing the biggest housing shortages."

Once again, take the media with a grain of salt. Severe housing shortages is coast to coast and nationwide. You may be seeing new housing developments, which is great, but this is only chipping away at the tip of the iceberg. You have close to 15 years worth of underbuilding since the housing crash, and it's not going to magically come back in an instant, as some media outlets like to portray.

Taking a cheat day from the cutting phase. Thanks to the kin folks at Costco, devoured 4 rotisserie chickens (minus the skin), a personal watermelon, and 1 gallon of water (to pee/sweat out the sodium).
