No way lol I was just in McAllen not too long ago visiting family. I live about 5-6 hours north of McAllen, and it’s only marginally better up here :(

1. Getting flat-out denied.
2. Getting qualified/approved for much less than before but with a much higher cost to borrow.

If you are on the investing side and getting a return, then yes, the US Dollar is king. For the rest of the common kin folks on the spending/borrowing side, then no, the US Dollar is not going nearly as far as it used it.

In-law's relocated up there recently about 2 months ago and we will be following suit. I've actually gone to Atlanta/Marietta/Alpharetta area the past 5 weekends in a row to look at houses.

Between hurricanes, sink holes, 1 season of HOT@$$ weather year-round, property insurance increases and lack of options, it's time to move out of FL.

Friend just closed on a house today. Took 2 months for the closing to happened. And he was pre-approved.

It's a good feeling, esp. in today's economic environment. If someone is able to close on a home in current conditions, that means they are in good financial shape (in addition to having lots of patience on actually finding a home to close on).

McAllen is nice place, my friends took me out to experience real mexican food.:rofl2:

we hardly see temperatures in triple digits, its more so the humidity that will do you in, and make ya hot under the collar.:icon17:
