We got lucky, house and the vehicles inside the garage were fine. Only issue was a shitton of water intrusion into my wife’s JLUR which was parked in the driveway. (2 car garage, so no room). Just pulled the carpets f/r on passenger side and popped the drain plugs.

It must’ve leaked from the front top door seal corner, also only on the side that got the most wind/rain exposure. Jeep’s never leaked before and it’s over 3 years old so I call that a win. :icon17:

Glad to hear you guys are safe. Materials can always be replaced (though a pain in the @$$ process).

For those on the east coast of FL, get ready for Hurricane Nicole and stay safe!

FL 4Motion 11-11-2022 06:26 AM

So another day and another hurricane. :ugh2:

At least it was only a cat 1.

We didn’t need anymore water though.

Fortunately no damage but my wife’s Jeep leaked again in exactly the same place as last time. :icon17: Should’ve just left the carpets out.

Fvcker’s def getting bed lined for sure now. Linex or bullet liner, gotta do some research.

Hope everyone else did okay. I saw on the news 49 beach front structures were damaged/condemned bc of undermining of foundations or just partially collapsed into the ocean. Included 25 hotels and condo complexes.

A November hurricane is quite rare from what I hear.

Yeah, really is, last one was 18 years ago iirc.

Tampa's been really lucky the last 100+ years with no direct hurricane hits, but looking at the pictures of Nicole, it shows that mother nature can be a b!tch and the amount of destruction even a Cat 1 can cause.

They don’t. I’m just going off of what the supposed “weather professionals” are relaying.

Yeah, I know. I wasn't taking a shot at you.

I have little respect for most TV weather people. Some years ago I had a friend who was a bona fide professional with the US Weather Service or whatever the correct name is. I only thought I had little respect for the TV folks. He was brutal.

No worries bro, I didn't take it that way lol.

There are these so-called "professionals" or "industry experts" in any and every field, and yet, some of the things they say never ceases to amaze me (not in a good way). For example, this is something that affects everyone:

Former Fed. Chair Ben Bernanke
01/2008: "The Fed. Reserve is not currently forecasting a recession." The Great Recession was from 12/2007 to 06/2009.

Fed. Chair Jerome Powell
12/2021: "Inflation is transitory."
06/2022: "We now understand better how little we understand about inflation."
11/2022: "We know rate hikes hurt. But we know what we're doing."

Sec. of Treasury Janet Yellen (and Former Fed. Chair)
06/2021: "I don't anticipate that inflation is going to be a problem."
06/2022: "I was wrong then about the path that inflation would take."
