I recently went out to check these "very popular" netbooks and I must say I was unimpressed. The resolution wasn't great, I can't install all my softwares, slow etc. I have to agree with Steve on this one.

So, what's your input on the ipad?

I don't know why people hate on AT&T so much... I have had AT&T for 3 years and haven't had any major issues with it.

In fact, I believe AT&T data is faster than Verizon's in terms of burst speed... although I do love the low latency from Verizon... Let's just wait until the full implementation of the 4G...

I'm underwhelmed. I may get one but I'd have to play around with it first. Using a netbook for mobility now and would have to be more impressed than I am now to switch. After this launch I'm actually more excited to see what Android Tablets come out this year (Love my Droid).

About ATT, as with all cell phone companies, it depends a lot on where you live. I can say that as an ATT customer, it sucks in Louisville Kentucky. I get no reception in my house. If someone calls me, I have to walk down my driveway to talk to them.

Where my parents live, in Milwaukee, WI, ATT coverage is much better, and I don't have to worry at all about making or recieving calls, no matter where I am. We switched to ATT form Verizon years ago, because back then, Verizon's coverage in Milwaukee was abysmal.

It's not a real tablet or a netbook really. It's like a huge ipod touch. Don't you think that's kind of stupid?

The giant touch keyboard is kind of retarded too if you think about it (should have a stylus option as well). It doesn't use a real operating system either.

Honestly, I think it's retarded. It's not a laptop, it's not a netbook, and it's not a tablet. It has no disc drive, no multi-tasking, and no graphic design oriented software support (what most people use tablets for).

Who is going to spend $500 on a giant e-reader that can go online.

It's all about gen 2. I agree it sucks as just a big ipod touch, but the potential is obvious. I have high hopes for gen 2, but as for this one, I'll let the rabid apple fans with deep pockets suffer through it and scream for what is needed in the next version.

I feel like Apple has been trying to shove slate computers down our throats for years now. Nobody seems to remember the Newton? There's a reason for that - it sucked.

Everyone ask yourself this: tablets have been around forever now, in one way, shape or form. Can you honestly remember anyone who actually used one REGULARLY? Like, actually enjoyed walking around with a silly tablet taking notes and crap.

Apple has felt there's a void to be filled for this device for a long time. They finally found a way to make it remotely interesting to the hipsters who will show up in droves to buy one: if the iPod and iPhone were so successful...why not just make one thats huge and looks identical? It even runs the same apps! So...wait, what makes it so much different than an iPhone? Uhmmmm....its.....bigger? And uhhh.....you can.....uhhhh........ITS MAGICAL! STEVE JOBS SAID SO!
