UPS “deliveries”

If anyone has any UPS or shipping company experience, please help me understand what the **** my local office is doing:

1) I order stuff from Z1 for Black Friday, it promptly ships that weekend, 11/29 or whatever. I made two orders which ship a day apart

2) my UPS settings have an automatic preference to hold at a Ups store near my work for easy pickup

3) 11/30 I get an update on the app that says the package cannot be delivered there, even tho the store is open. I am told on the phone the the store has limited space, and this entry was made by local drivers. They tell me to remove my “hold for pickup” from the settings and it will cause my package to go straight to the house. I updated my settings accordingly

4) on 12/3,4 and 6 the tracking says delivery was attempted at the STORE and could not completed. I call the main 800 number each time and tell them they ****** up. They assure me my local office will call me and give me an update, but their system reflects my change in preferences.

Today the local warehouse supervisor finally calls me and says rhe main hotline ducked up, they never got my changes, but will now

MEANWHILE of my packages actually makes it onto a truck and goes out for delivery today. I follow on the app and see the truck on my street, and I can actually look outside and see the dude in uniform dropping off packages to houses across the street. Oddly, it’s not a truck, the guy is driving a plain Hyundai sedan.

After he passes my street multiple times skipping my house, I see on the app he’s literally zigzagging around my neighborhood randomly. Now I am annoyed so I go out and talk to the dude. He speaks little English but I show him my phone with the tracking info - but he says he DOESNT HAVE MY PACKAGE, it’s “back at the truck”, which is parked nowhere in sight,

So

Why the **** is the UPS driver roaming around in a white sedan with a truckload of **** parked elsewhere?

How the hell is he so disorganized he brought with him stuff for my street but…not my house which he’s driven by repeatedly?

I also live ten minutes from the actual warehouse so it’s not like this dude is saving gas or something. He’s making more trips in the same area for no reason, it’s the damn suburbs, all the houses are clumped together

There is no rhyme or reason to their madness. And that's straight from a buddy of mine who's been driving locally for them over 20 years.

Trying to figure out why UPS or USPS does things the way they do is like trying to figure out women. You'd have a quicker time reaching the regret phase if you just stuck in your head in a vice and tightened it yourself....slowly.

well, homeboy showed up a couple hours later with the package. Guess it took him that long to drive back his truck, hit some random houses in the area, then find his way back to my house

with modern technology, it should be easy for them to plot all the packages in his area and pack them in such an order that he's just hitting houses sequentially

somehow he's crossing back and forth across this square mile or so and who the hell know where he left his truck or why he's using a secondary vehicle

Not to mention that they NEVER knock or ring the door bell when they drop off packages!!!!! :shakes head:

Yep. Not enough drivers to go around. We was getting drivers in at Home Depot that don't speak any English at all. They would come in and hand you the paperwork, and try not to say anything.

Can’t be mad at those trying to work. Especially if they don’t even speak the local language well. Everybody trying to make it in this world.

Maybe, I had a fedex, package that said it was delivered, and I was home, no doorbell, no nothing (live on the 3rd floor of an apartment). So I went looking for it, thought, maybe they got the buildings mixed up.

Saw the maintenance guys, and they said to you check under the stairwell, they had just found one there. Went and Checked there was mine and someone else.

So it really does not matter who the carrier is.....

Had 10 lbs of gun powder that needed a signature. FedX just left it on the front porch. No knock or door bell. Just dropped it and ran.
