Tail of the dragon - beware

well folks, seems the tail of the dragon is in the news, a bit too much and not for the right news

latest
https://www.thedrive.com/news/42824/...agon-really-is

really posting, this because of the latest, but have heard read of several others this year...

This is really one of the dangerous roads in Tennessee's.

Just posting, so if you come and have fun, just be safe....

I am 45 minutes from the dragon and it has been a pure joy to drive. Sometimes just crusing it, is the most fun...

Hard lesson to learn but glad he’s ok and gets a second chance at life.

Damn, over 50+ motorist died there….RIP.

Why won’t they fix gravity cavity MM3? …if they know it’s a danger.

I put two wheels off several years ago. No doubt it was a pucker moment. I saved it.

One of our Forum members went off several years ago with a passenger at night and they both died. I can't remember his name for the life of me.

Every year ZDAYZ there was at least one or more people trying to get off the mountain through the trees. Remember the guy with the 1200whp GTR that tried to put it into the river?

Car enthusiasts won't know their limit unless the go to the track or racing school and get some instruction. I get so tired of hearing, dude I drive the canyons all the time and I am one the fastest guys out there. We that is great until you run out of talent.

On the track. I drive about 85 to 95 %. On the street. I won't go over 75 to 80 %. Because of unknown conditions and the OTHER guy.

Exactly on the track everyone should know what they are doing and should be predictable. You also know there are no hazards are on the road. I may hit that 95 or slightly more, but I know that the worst is I go off roading and may lose a splitter or a bumper. If there are walls or tire barriers to hit then that will dictate my pace.

You also learn that the more you learn the fadt you go and the greater the consequences. Many enthusiasts don't understand that until they run out of talent.
