I can not sleep!

For the past 3 nights now I will go to bed and wake up around 4 or 5 hours later and than start thinking about a girl that I am seeing. I have tried to block her out of my mind I have tried relaxed breathing. Shoot I even rubbed one out. I can not go back to sleep. Tonight I went to bed early because of class in the morning and here I am 4 hours later awake. Any suggestions?

blue660r01 01-24-2010 11:47 PM

lmao @ rub one out.

I wake up early too. I just moved into a new apartment. I go to bed at 3 and wake up at like 9-10 it sucks

bigaudiofanat 01-24-2010 11:48 PM

LOL ya it is like I think about her and than my mind runs with it like what to say to her next time we see each other and so on. First girl to ever do this to me. UGH

blue660r01 01-24-2010 11:50 PM

Welcome to reality lol.

TARDCORE 01-24-2010 11:50 PM

LMAO what drink and take pills while playing video games until you pass out? LOL J/K I wish I had some whiskey or something.

blue660r01 01-24-2010 11:52 PM

Correction...Drink, pills, and post on the370z

TARDCORE 01-24-2010 11:54 PM

the melatonin isnt like that stuff that makes you wake up not knowing where you are. I don't even think it works, its more of a placebo. But trying to sleep during the day and stay up all night is extremely hard to get used to!

bigaudiofanat 01-24-2010 11:55 PM

Actually a few years back I use to work midnight shift and enjoyed it quite a bit.

TARDCORE 01-24-2010 11:59 PM

I love it! Its when the most action happens at my job but the swing shift, 4pm-2am, is just as fun. Im on days until april which sucks balls. In fact my bed time almost here haha. They say to get better sleep is to get more active so if you do work out and all you do is heavy lifting, you might want to throw some cardio in your routine. And they say not to eat like an hour before bed or something like that.

bigaudiofanat 01-25-2010 12:01 AM

YA I have to get up in 6 hours and time is just slipping away. I think I will be fine and not tired but just besides the point that I can not get back to sleep.

MC 01-25-2010 02:10 AM

i havent been to bed before 5am in years

Tyrell Tyson 01-25-2010 03:06 AM

It's easy to fix your sleeping patterns

I know how it is to go to sleep at like 5am then sleep in the next day getting up late, then when the night comes around you are not tired and have trouble sleeping. Tossing and turning for hours.

Its hard but all you have to do is, lets say you get to sleep tonight at 4am, you must set your alarm early, lets say 8am.

You will be a zombie all day most likely but as long as you don't nap later on that day, when night comes you will be exhausted and should sleep well

It way not work out on the first day but regardless you have to set your alarm again to 8am and get up when it goes off, do not sleep in or snooze.

In addition to this don't eat or drink anything close to bedtime.

Also if you workout hard just before dinner (1 hour before) then eat, you should be pretty exhausted by 9-10pm

You're my freaking hero. Though heres my bedtime story:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/DSCN0080.jpg I'm doing 11-7, Isn't great that its somewhat socially acceptable to be drinking at 9am?

antman22 01-25-2010 01:47 PM

i think all these suggestions are great...i tend to do a combo...work out, rub out, drink up. be sure to work out a few hours before sleep though, if not you'll be wired. the rub out or drink up part- its all up to you.

vipor 01-25-2010 01:52 PM

i'm really bad about thinking while trying to sleep so i understand that part. i actually make sure to have my phone near the bed so i can use the voice recorder if anything pops into my head pertaining to work or any projects i'm working on. the whole girl thing thankfully isn't an issue. maybe i should look into melatonin.

the rub out is okay but the gf gets angry if we didn't bang that night. i'll usually get up and take a hit or two and that seems to help me.

I take it she's not fond of you. Have you tried talking to her?...Then, you'll both be "sleepless in Seattle"...ooops!, in Bridgeton!

We go out every friday night line dancing and once in a while hang out on other days. We have known each other for almost all of our lives and pretty much grew up together. We will see were it goes.

PapoZalsa 01-25-2010 10:17 PM

Sleeping spills and a shot of Bacardi 151.

You're thinking too much. Try normal bedtime routines like brushing the teeth, taking a shower, and NOT drinking alcohol before bed. They say normal routines trick the body into thinking it's time to go to sleep, so you fall asleep faster. As for the waking up, don't know what to tell you. Rub one out again!

What did I say about bigaudiofanat's journal?

TARDCORE 01-25-2010 10:57 PM

Women are not worth the trouble for this exact reason. I am only 22, so my opinion isn't spoken with a lot of experience with serious relationships, but this girl I was dating like 6 months ago slowly started bringing stuff over to my house and leaving it there. A toothbrush, curling iron, shampoo/conditioner, a few clothing items, stuff to clean my house and kitchen. I didn't notice it at first but then one day I was looking for some TP and opened the cabinet below my bathroom sink and found a big box of tampons! She was attempting to move in for free or something, like a parasite. I told her I was on to her little game and said " if your gonna live here your gonna pay my car payment". Didn't happen that way unfortunately :shakes head:

370zyan 01-25-2010 11:17 PM

LMAO...gotta say...I love the Melatonin and Jack suggestion...I'm on the floor!

You think that's bad, my wife will wait until I'm done spending 2 hours detailing the Z, then she comes out and tells me she's taking the car to the grocery store or to get her nails done or something. GRRR!!!!!
